CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...

Our second daughter (the only one our ES still allows to communicate with him) shared two recent pics of our 6-month old grandson we have never seen. He is so cute and looks just like his father (our son) and my husband at the same age. I wish I could share but I promised our daughter I wouldn't show anyone lest she be cut off as well. I dare not show any emotion about our ES around her or she shuts off. Anyway, another prayer of mine answered.

Praise God for providing the picture of your precious grandson. So happy for you.

Thank God for answered prayers! It is a shame that we have to feel like criminals to get updates on our own children. I am in the same situation as you. My youngest who has been in & out of my life for 3 yrs will not speak of my oldest son to me or else, he is out the door. My oldest has 2 children, I have no knowledge of even the sex of the second one, but the first was a girl. Only reason I know about the first child is my other gd told me. Since then, she has been told not to mention anything about her uncle (my son) to me. What is this teaching her? What a tangled web we weave!

This is not only difficult for us the parents but also for the innocent children. It is impossible to make sense of the senseless. It is from the enemy. It is very sad.

I'm happy for you! Just having that face in your mind will help you as you continue to pray for your ES and family... what a seemingly small, but actually quite significant blessing!

I'm glad you got to see the pic. They're so cute at that age.

What a blessing for you to get the pictures!

I agree that the picture was a blessing, something so you could keep that face in your mind as you pray for him. I hope your situation gets better and your son softens his heart and I hope you get more pictures often. I think it's good not to talk about the estrangement with your daughter, it does put her in the middle of a terrible situation, it's better for her not to be caught in the mix. It's good that you see that.
