CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
I turned it around for good and vowed no matter what I would reach out to others struggling. My sister-in-law hurt her elbow and had to have surgery and I knew my brother was going to be sitting in the waiting room by himself. We drove over to sit with him and give hugs to both of them to show love.
One day later on my brother did the same for a man he knew well....he told me, "I knew he would be sitting alone waiting for his wife to get done with surgery so we went to sit with him". I just smiled because I figured he realized how important it was.
So just turn satan's tactics around for good send cards to people who are sick or go sit at the hospital with someone. So very glad your husband is doing well....such a miracle how they fix us up. My shoulder is wires and screws too but works great !
It is so hard to be angry with family who seem not to care. When my husband was diagnosed with diabetes and not feeling the best, we met with es and girlfriend to talk about their wedding and what they wanted from us. At one point DH looked like he was going to collapse and I said to my es that his dad was just diagnosed with diabetes and his response was "let's get back to our wedding plans". No compassion at all.
Now his father is gone and my DIL said my son is and will deal with the 7 years he missed with his dad because of his self-centeredness.
We can't change others; only ourselves. If I lived near you, I would definitely visit, maybe bring you some muffins and hope you would put the coffee on.
The more we do what Bella has said, focusing on helping others, the less we'll be thinking about ourselves and our pain. It's a source of real joy to know we've helped someone else.
