CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
However, you have a daughter and I believe daughters reunite with their families faster than sons, especially if the sons are married.
I would just say KEEP IT SHORT. I remember when I was young and my mother and I were not estranged but she would write me these long letters and after awhile I didn't want to read anymore, so keep it short.
The old saying "less is more" applies here I think. And pray about it.
At this point in his life, he is not thinking about anyone but himself and his girlfriend, and any emotions I have are just a burden to him. I am trying to run his life, I am too emotional, I am and offense to his freedom. Go learn to make Indian food with the neighbor, Mother. I don't want you in my life. Pretty much an exact quote.
Every once in a while I write something. Lately, I try to make it light, but I still get no response. I thought once about sending a singing telegram. Maybe a guy dressed up as a ham sandwich. My son doesn't seem to have a sense of humor either. He will eat the baked goods I leave at his door though.
Estrangement is a sign of the times, for sure, but we are still commanded to "pray without ceasing".
Our ED is unmarried but is still being controlled by a bf (not the original one she left home for). We live in an evil world. We do not always understand God's plan (as Rick Warren said about his son who took his life) but we know that we can trust God who will never fail us.
But I constantly toy with, the idea.of writing her.
