I understand your pain because I have a son and daughter in law who don't love my husband & I, and we are being denied access to our baby grandson as well. They are not Christians and that is the main reason for my estrangement. I know how you feel. We hope to be a place where you can find the Christian support you need.

I am glad I found you also. I know God always knows best but it is so hard for me to cope with this all. Please pray that God comforts my soul as I try to go on and shows me a purpose for my life. Sorry for all the sadness, just so blue today over this.

Sadinmaine, I'm so sorry your children are estranged from you. We can understand how your heart is broken.

I have only one child, and he is estranged from us, along with our five grandchildren. I have gone on and made my life happy and useful. Yes, I have moments of sadness. But I'm determined to do what I can to be productive and happy.

sadinmaine - I am so sorry that you are here because of the nightmare of estrangement with your two children. I have only one son to feel the loss from, but I cannot comprehend the pain that a parent feels when two of their children walk away. I know how depressed I was for 4 years before my life began to turn around but I think now that I was blessed to have had only one child to be concerned about. I wish that I could wrap my arms around you and give you a great big hug right now but all I can do is pray that God gives you comfort and the courage to withstand this traumatic period of grief you are feeling right now. Trust me, it really does get better. There is hope. There is a life even if your kids do not ever return. Hopefully, your estrangement will be short lived though.

How old are your children and how long has it been since you have last seen or spoken to them? Do you know what caused the estrangement? You do not have to answer all of those questions if it is too difficult to talk about it at this time. It is just that it helps us to get a better idea of the scope of the problem you are facing so we are better able to help and support you.

I last spoke with my son about 4 months ago. He doesn't return my phone calls or texts. with my daughter the relationship has been on a steady decline as if I was walking on eggshells. Suddenly a few weeks ago she has stopped returning my calls and unfriended me on Facebook. I went through a bitter divorce when They were in their teens and they were also brainwashed against me during the process. I have been trying to mend the relationships for 12 years. My son is 28 and my daughter is 26.

Hi sadinmaine I am fairly new in this group, also. We are estranged from our 21 year old daughter who left us 7 months ago and desires no contact with family. I am sorry to hear of you ES and ED. I just returned from my friend's daughter's wedding and was thinking, sadly, how I will never give a wedding for our ED unless God changes her heart. God will help us through each day. We are blessed to have this group for support.

Oh sadinmaine, my husband & I were de-friended on facebook over two 1/2 years ago, by both my ES and DIL, They will be coming up to their 5th wedding anniv. and now have a 15 month old baby boy, who they won't even give us photos of. I decided just shortly after the facebook shunning, to end my relationship with facebook, it was too painful to even see their name and faces on their profile page. I don't even have a facebook account anymore. What really hurts, is that they went and did the same to our other two adult children who are both still in a healthy, respectful, loving relationship with us. My 27 yr. old daughter says she thinks it's because they don't want us to see any photos of their baby boy (our grandson). The entire "facebook fiasco" is what I like to dub it..so I have learned that perhaps it is God's way of protecting me from any further insults/lies that they are most likely posting. It does make it painful to go through all of this. Hang in there, we pray for each other here.
So, take it as God protecting you when you got de-friended.
Feels like a "survivor" type of mentality has taken over, and the "tribe has spoken"...to play around with your family that way is absurd. I keep reminding myself that God is in my corner and watching my back..and as long as He's with me on my side...doesn't matter who is against me...check Romans 8 verse 31.
and you can be sure that God doesn't de-friend us..ever!!

@sadmad11, I never thought of it about facebook in that way. Yes, she also defriended other member of my family too. Roman's 8:31 is a great comfort! Thank you. I know I did my best with what I had for my children. I have comfort in know that. Yes I made mistakes just like anyone else. I keep praying that God know's what is best and all will turn out in the end. He has a better plan than mine. I am need to trust in that plan.

@everyone...thank you all for your wonderful support, it means so much to me at this time. I too am also praying for everyone here.

I'm also new to this group, but in my short time here have found so much comfort and support. I also belong to a couple other support groups on here for this. It's a nightmare, and I wish I had some words of wisdom, but I don't. We have to just keep pushing on and pray that things change for us soon. I will say that yesterday my friends made me go and volunteer at a wolf sanctuary yesterday...and it felt so good to be needed and be busy..it helped me take my mind of things and filled my heart with a cause and something to live for. Perhaps you could find something like that to help you.

It is a nightmare, especially having 2 children and both of them being estranged. I am trying to think of it as God protecting me but that is so hard. I guess they don't realize how much I really do love them, and I don't understand how people can be so cruel. I could never do such a thing to my own mother, I just don't understand.

Hi sadinmaine, Being estranged from our 21 year old daughter and youngest child has surely taken it's toll on us this past 7 months. Only with the Lord's help and the prayers of others are we able to persevere. It is a greiving process and takes time. It is an evil world and the enemy is alive and well. He seeks to destroy but Jesus has the final word. We have had to say "The battle is the Lord's. God bless you.

Our only child -son - posted on FB in Sept that his GF is pregnant. I called to congratulate him but he too me that they only want and need her family and no further contact with us and hung up. Saw a picture of ES and new baby right after her birth on Christmas Eve. I have closed FB account and feel that is what God wants me to do to help myself. I have prayed and prayed but am glad I can no longer see this pain thrown at me via FB. We have never seen the baby. He and GF recently took off with all the GC to who knows where. Thought we wouldn't exist through Christmas but my faith grows stronger and stronger. He knows all and is in control of all. So I rest my burdens at His feet. Hugs
