I will definitely pray that God will completely heal your husband and that He will give you the grace, strength and peace you need to get through this. Concentrate on your husband right now and getting him the care he needs. Try not to let what your ED does or doesn't do right now affect you. You can't control or change her and doing so will only rob you of your peace and strength. I can only imagine how much your heart is breaking for your DH knowing that ED doesn't seem to care anything about her dad. I know I have been in turmoil this week praying and hoping that our son remembers and cares enough to contact his dad on his birthday Sunday. So as much as you can give DH your undivided attention right now and let our precious Father in heaven deal with your ED.

gma6 - I am so sorry to hear about your husband's health. You are both in my prayers. And as others are saying, concentrate on your DH right now.

I remember when my ES and DIL were planning there wedding, my husband got very sick and was diagnosed with diabetes coupled with pinched nerves in his leg. We met the kids at a park to discuss final wedding plans and it was obvious my husband was weak and not feeling good. I said to my ES "your dad was recently diagnosed with diabetes and has a pinched nerve causing him pain". My ES didn't say anything and my DIL interrupted me and said "now, back to OUR wedding....." Shows how self-centered she is and my ES didn't even say anything.

SO - my dear Christian sister, concentrate on your DH and pray. Know we are all keeping you in our prayers. God will deal with your ED.

I will pray for your hubby....I know all too well about horrible health issues.....I hope he comes through this ok....and as for your ED I pray that this would be a wake up call to her......I lost my dad when I was 13 to sudden death from heart disease and 37 years have past since then and I would give anything to have him in my life.....let your ED know how I am many others would love to still have a dad....blessings

hopeless......my husband lost his father at age 16 and our ES grew up knowing how sad that was for my DH. So a year ago my ES's best friend lost his dad at age 54 (my ES and his friend were 28). We thought for sure it would trigger a memory in our ES to reconnect with at least his dad, if he didn't want to reconnect with me. But nope! His heart has been hardened so much by his wife that not even death of a parent triggered love in his heart.

thank you so much. Prayers mean the world to me, laying our problems at our Heavenly Fathers feet. He came home today, he is very tired. The semi estranged daughter had the nerve to ask if we would take her kids overnight tonight. I cannot believe her. I feel bad for the kids but I have to take care of my husband. 5 yrs ago he had full function of both bundle branches sending the electrical impulse to work the heart , now he has one. One thing that has happened over the last several years is stress. He had light chest pain a couple of times semi ED gave us grief. No more, she is on a road of destruction that Satan is thrilled she is travelling. She has been taught about the Lord, it is her choice not to follow Him, as sad and horrendous as that is. Thank you my sisters in Christ, may our Lord God draw you all close to Him, may you feel His peace and comfort and the joy of knowing He is in control.

gma6 - I'm glad your husband is home. It is always feels best to be at home. I applaud you for making the decision not to take the GKs overnight and instead focus on your DH right now. How did your ED react to your decision? Instead of asking you to take the GKs overnight, she should have been asking you how she could help you right now. Our kids are all so self-centered. I know my ES is.. I wonder if they will change as they grow older?

Gma6 - Please spend your time concentrating on your husbands and your well being. When I read your ED asked you to take the gk I was shocked that she would have so little regard for what you both are going thru. I agree with Norske1 - she should be helping you. Prayers are with you!

gma6, so much wise advice for you tonite. All those that recommend you avoid concern over your daughter and worry just for your husbands needs are so very correct. We heard about the cleaving to our spouses on this site not that long ago. They are our first wordly concern. I love my husband more than I thought I was capable of. I would be lost without him. Our son knows I am chronically ill and does not seem to be concerned. He also knows my husband and myself are dealing with the fact that hubbys parents will not be with us long. His father in particular is going before our eyes. My husband is in so much pain, although does not complain. My son is aware of the situation with his grandparents and doesn't even bother to contact his dad, whom he has been in contact with for about a year and a half, to just tell him hes thinking about him. We were so careful to be sure that our children saw the importance of being there for others. Sadly somewhere my son lost that ability. My daughter has that gift and uses it well.

I mention it as being a gift as it is a spiritual gift to have mercy for others, benevolence etc. Some of us just cannot reach out in that way. Perhaps your daughter is carrying some guilt about your husband that she cant express right now. I refuse to believe that these kids have lost these foundations we laid out before them.

As for your husband, I myself just learned that I have a problem with my right bundle block. Found out accidently while looking at my file. The doctors hadn't even mentioned it. So I do have to have tests to see what we are looking at. You are in my prayers and your husband as well. Blessings. Nana

It is truly sad that in times like this, their true colors come through. I would not take it to mean that your ED does not care at all about her dad though. It may very well be that she does want to visit with her dad but is also not wanting to deal with the awkwardness of the present situation at the same time.
