I think hope is a good thing. Faith, hope and love. Sometimes, during trials in our lives - hope is hard to have. I try to remember that my hope is in God.

I like this reading on hope.

"Nothing is wrong with high hopes, but today, I do not allow anything or anyone falling short of the mark to throw me into anger or despair. Instead I allow others to work on their own shortcomings, while I devote myself to working on mine.

Today, I know that change comes slowly. By keeping my expectations realistic, I minimize my disappoint in myself and others.

Today, I will set aside expectations and leave the future to God."

It was not very long ago when I first came to DS that I can say that I had no hope at all. Despair was all that felt when I looked to the futre. But, by God's loving kindness, He lifted me out of that valley of despair to a place where I can live peacefully because I now have that glimmer of hope that I did not have before.

Hope for resolution is what is most desirable for me and so I do have expectations for a good outcome in the future, but I also have to realistically realize that it might not be achieved in my lifetime. However, as long as I am breathing, there will always be that chance of my hope seeing fulfillment through God's Grace.

As you say Maria, hope truly is a "good thing."

Whenever I see the word "HOPE" it makes me think of a dear little 12 year friend who passed away from leukemia. He loved the Lord Jesus.! He had gone through unbelievable circumstances. He had 2 bone marrow transplants, chemo, radiation, meds that were sOOO toxic. All the people who knew him and were
praying for him wore his bracelet. He designed it. It glowed in the dark and it said, "HOPE IN CHRIST,
Riley Spiering. I wore that bracelet for 6 years. During that time he NEVER gave up hope! He would always tell me that he had a win/win situation. Hope here to live or Hope there to be with Jesus.

This has truly helped me with my estrangement It taught me that my HOPE must be in Christ. The outcome might now be what I want BUT that doesn't change where my HOPE should be. It will be a win/win situation because my God is sovereign and he will use this for his plan. Just as he did with my
precious friend, Riley Speiring.

Got to read the book "The Promise: God works all things for your Good". By Robert Morgan.

"My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ " is the familiar words of a hymn we sing in our denomination. "On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand." It's so easy to give up hope but that is such a vital part of our life and walk with Christ. MariaStevie, thank you for your encouragement and remembering that all things are based on hope - on steadfast hope. If we have as much faith as a mustard seed, nothing is impossible. So, as long as we have faith, hope and love, we will be ok. No, things may not turn out the way we hope to see them. But our hope is in the Lord and He will know and do what is best for us. Thanks for your support and encouragement. I also want to read the above mentioned book as I am always looking for positive reinforcement. Thanks to all of you.
