I'm praying for you right now, grace. I'm so sorry. I'm right there with you--my daughter's birthday is next week and I'm so heartbroken that I cannot give her a gift or hug…or even say, "happy birthday." As moms, it's our day, too <3

As I pray for each of us daily, God is continuing me to pray in praises… meaning, I've stopped asking for the reconciliation and restoration for He has heard that prayers already, and I'm now praising Him for the work He is doing in our hearts and our children's hearts to restore them to Himself. We cannot see what He is doing, but He is able and faithful to hear the cries of His children. We are in covenant with Him…that means our enemies are His enemies and He has promised to fight for us. It is not His Will that any shall perish, so we pray in His Will and praise in His Will… and then we be still and wait upon the Lord. He can soften your son's heart and I'm agreeing with you in Jesus' name, that God is doing just that right now.

grace, remembering you and in the sad time of your ES's birthday. It is impossible to make sense of estrangement and why our EC would want to keep us from having a relationship with the very children we gave life to or in the case of adopted EC the very ones we gave a life to.

Estrangement is opposite God's way for families. It is so opposite Love. May God bring you peace. We trust God alone to change our EC's hearts.

My heart breaks for you and I do know your anguish as our son's first birthday during estrangement was this past August. I just wanted to stay in bed all day. But DH made me go out with him and we did something that we enjoy together and kept the focus on the fact that we were blessed to have our ES. All things in life are constantly changing and celebrate that we are and were good parents. I think that is probably the best any of us can do. So go and do something with some one and honor the fact that you are a good mother no matter what has happened. You tried and you did a good job. It is our EC that need to see God's light.

Grace, I will remember you in prayer while in Church tomorrow. I'm sorry about how difficult tomorrow will be for you. I've missed 5 of my daughter's birthdays now. It hasn't become any easier, but at least I'm getting used to it.

I am so sorry, Grace, and I understand how you feel. My son's birthday was in August, and I DiD send him a card, and a text, but I heard no reply. I love what Katesmom said about praising God for what He is doing. I too, am in a season of acceptance and praise. He has heard every single one of my prayers for restoration and he has caught every single one of my tears in His hand. He KNOWS our pain. Jesus has and is interceding on our behalf and our precious children (and in my case, grandchildren). Peace to you.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. My first instinct in the flesh was to skip church tomorrow and stay in bed all day and feel sorry for myself, but after reading your comments, I am going to church and hold my head high . I will continue to pray for myself for strength not to give up and for my son. I thank God for each of you who replied to me. I thank God for a group such as this and allowing me to find it.
