WILL GOD DO IT NOW?

We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
– 2 Corinthians 6:1–2 (NKJV)

Over the past few days we have been discussing common faith questions that come up when we read a promise from God’s Word. When we come across something God has promised us, we first need to answer the question, “Is that promise for me?” Second, we need to answer, “Does God keep His Word?” If you missed the past two devotionals, I would encourage you to read them to cement in your mind that God qualifies you for every promise and that He never goes back on His Word.

Today we will cover the third question commonly asked when we read one of God’s promises: “Will God do it NOW?”

In order to have faith, we need to know WHEN God is willing to come through on the promise. If I promise to take you out for dinner someday, you likely won’t begin to make plans. But if I promise to take you today, it’s a different story.

If you need a miracle, believing that God will do it someday isn’t faith. This belief can cost you your miracle because you never know when it will be His will. According to 2 Corinthians 6:2, now is the time!

Faith is present tense. When you find a promise from God in His Word, declare that it is yours today. See with the eyes of faith. See it done in your life today.

I agree with what Leon says here, but I also know that if you've been waiting for a miracle or one of God's promises for a long time, having faith for it to happen TODAY is not something that comes easy. I do believe that faith is all that is required, but faith comes by hearing. If we have not been listening to faith filled messages, then sometimes it takes time to build your faith muscles.

Romans 12:3 says that we have all been given THE measure of faith. So it's not that we need MORE faith. It's that we need to strengthen the faith we already have. I've heard it said that it's similar to everyone being born with the same amount of muscles, but some will build their muscles and make them strong, and some won't. We have all have the same amount of muscles, but we have to do something to strengthen them.

Over the next few days I will be posting about the imagination. The mind is where we conceive things. The Bible talks a lot about imagination and hope, and that will be our focus over the next few days to help strengthen and build our faith.

Thanks for this. Yes this is true and there isnt a moment to waste on this.Time taken to build our faith and strengthen should be a natural part of our being sealed up and fattened, By now - we should be well on our way with it >), Yes I agree and look forward to your future posts on the subject of building up our faith to the highest capacity. I'm reminded of a visual I saw somewhere else:
If you leave a piece of rotten, fungus affected fruit in with the healthy fruit, the rotten fruit suddenly takes over the healthy fruit. So it is in your own life. The people you surround yourself with are going to influence you attitude. If you surround yourself with positive, God fearing people, your life will be upbeat and pleasant. But, if you surround yourself with negativity...
Surround yourself with the Holy Ghost. Read scripture. Cover yourself in God!!!
