The Effects of Praise (How it affects: you, the devil, and God)

How Praise affects you:

• It’s how you check your spiritual pulse.

• If you aren’t praising God on a regular basis, you aren’t healthy spiritually.

• Don’t wait until things are good to praise God.

• Even if your problems disappear right now, there will be more.

• Praise makes you focus on God and His promises instead of what is wrong.

• Just make a decision to give thanks to God no matter what.

• You can always find something good to praise Him for.

• Focus is everything. Focus beyond the problem.

• It’s not an option—it’s something we must do.

• It should be the foundation of our relationship with God as well as the foundation of our prayer lives.

How praise affects the devil:

• It is a weapon against the devil. “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.” —Psalms 8:2

• Jesus quoted this verse and exchanged the word “strength” for praise.

• The devil was jealous of God and wanted all the praise God was given, so your praise drives him crazy and torments him!

• The joy of the Lord is your strength and will stop the devil in his tracks.

• If you aren’t praising God, it can give the devil an inroad to you.

“I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” —Psalms 34:1 “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.” —Philippians 4:4

How Praise affects God:

“But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” —Psalms 34:1

• When you praise, it draws and manifests the presence and power of God.

• When you express your thankfulness to God, it blesses Him.

• God is love (1 John 4:8). Anyone that loves has a need for it to be returned.

• God isn’t going to fall apart if we don’t thank Him, but it really blesses Him.

• He longs to hear from you.

• God inhabits your praise!
