This is a Christian Group for people that are seeking healing or overcoming challenges through Biblical advice. Our key verse is 3 John 1:2 "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."
Some of what is typed below is from a teaching by Teresa Houghteling, I will give the link to her message at the bottom. I also added a lot of verses to what she said, so part of it was not taken from her message.
Is it God’s will to heal?
Some people believe it is God’s will to heal, but they are not experiencing it, or seeing it for themselves. And that creates some unbelief about whether or not it is God’s will. Let’s look at what Scripture says:
Hebrews 1:1-3 “Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets, (2) and NOW in these final days he has spoken to us through his son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe. (3) The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God,…” KJV phrases the last part, “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person…”
So what does that mean? It says that God is speaking to us through Jesus, who has the same character as God, or is the express image of Him. The word “express” in the Greek, means an exact copy. So Jesus is the exact copy of God. So when we see Jesus, we see God. Jesus even said in John 14:9, “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father.”
So all we have to do is look to Jesus for our answer. He said in John 12:49 “I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say, and how to say it.”
Jesus is the perfect representation of what God would say. He is also the perfect representation of what God would do as we cansee in . John 5:19 “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son does also.”
So if we want to know what God’s nature, character, or will is on a subject, then we look at Jesus. Jesus was God in the flesh to reveal to us who God is. So what did Jesus say about God’s will to heal?
Matthew 8:1-3 “Large crowds followed Jesus as he came down the mountainside. (2) Suddenly, a man with leprosy approached him and knelt before him. ‘Lord’ the man said, ‘if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.’ (3) Jesus reached out and touched him. ‘I am willing,’ he said, ‘Be healed.’ And instantly the leprosy disappeared.” So Jesus said He was willing, or that it was His will to heal this man with leprosy.
What was His will concerning others?
Matthew 8:14-17 “When Jesus arrived at Peter’s house, Peter’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a high fever. (15) But when Jesus touched her hand, the fever left her. The she got up and prepared a meal for him. (16) That evening many demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. He cast out the evil spirits with a simple command, and he healed ALL the sick. (17) This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said, ‘He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.”
Matthew 9:35 “Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed EVERY kind of disease and illness.”
Mathew 15:30-31 “A vast crowd brought to him people who were lame, blind, crippled, those who couldn’t speak, and many others. They laid them before Jesus, and he healed them ALL. (31) The crowd was amazed! Those who hadn’t been able to speak were talking, the crippled were made well, the lame were walking, and the blind could see again! And they praised the God of Israel.”
Acts 10:38, “And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth and with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing ALL who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.”
What John, a disciple of Jesus say about God's will to heal?
3 John 1:2 (KJV) “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as the soul prospereth.” This was God, writing through the pen of John, inspired by the Holy Spirit to say that God wishes above all other things, that you would be prosperous and healthy, as your soul prospers.
These are only a few Scriptures that talk about the subject, but I could quote many more.
If we believe Scripture, I think we have to come to the conclusion, that God wants us well.

So unbelief is the issue. What then can we do to deal with unbelief? In Matthew 17 Jesus comes down from the mount of transfiguration to a situation where the other 9 disciples cannot cast the devil out of a boy. When the disciples asked him about why he answered because of your unbelief. Then Jesus says "this kind goes not out but by prayer and fasting." Many may believe that He was referring to the devil not going out, when in fact he was speaking about the disciple's unbelief. Their unbelief would go out from fasting and prayer. So we see that Jesus gives us practical solutions to change ourselves. I would to God that people did not discourage praying in tongues so much. I know this is a foundation for believers that is very misunderstood, but what a gift that the Holy Spirit would formulate the perfect prayer for me to build my faith.
Andrew Wommack has a teaching about the imagination that is also very powerful. We have to change what we see in our minds, and in our futures. Do we imagine ourselves sick in our futures, or do we see ourselves well. Do we plan to be decrepit in our old age, or do we plan to be like Moses, whose eye sight was not dim, nor his natural forces abated at 120 years old? We have to be careful what we allow to enter our minds, such as commercials that advertise for devices for ailments some people experience in old age. If we expect to have ailments, we will. It's a small thing, but it's a seed planted if we watch these things.
So there are a few examples, but there are multiple things we can do to try to overcome unbelief.
