That's interesting how you posted this. I've been thinking of doing that very same thing. O.K., to answer your question. The talents God has given me is with children and church building. I've taken the time to take a 63-question spiritual gift test and found I scored the highest possible of 21 with: Mercy 17, Exhortation 16, and Prophesy 16. Those are among the highest that I thank the Lord for giving me. The strongest subject is Geography. Right now, I am with most of them. I pray He uses my strength in Geography to give Him the glory.

I encourage this to be a serious discussion on how we can pull all our unique gifts and make-ups to be His body. We MUST help each other in their weaknesses (the areas where they lack at) as they should help us in ours. Like a team, we're here for each other and remember that a good Christian is one who is willing to offer up their strengths for ministering to other Christians.

To all: This issue is discussed in detail in Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, and Ephesians 4. A good Bible study on this would be great. Keep in mind, this issue IS importand and serves as a great way to witness to fellow believers and get together to not only help one another, but to also reach others for Christ.

what a great topic!! I was just talking about this with my daughter yesterday! I forgot what my gifts are. Its been so long since we've been to church because of my conditions. I miss it sooo much. Please pray that my family & I can start going again and find a church were God wants us to be in. Thx <3

We should share what God has laid on our hearts on how He wants to use us. Look at it as a team. Each team in any sport has players in special positions that they're strong in. They use these players to help the team improve their chance of winning.

It's the same way with us as Christians. We are to use our God-given talents and gifts to serve Him in the unique way He has assigned us. Like a team, we use these talents in a cohesive unit to win souls for Christ. That is our duty and we all should welcome it. Keep in mind, we are here not for ourselves, but for God and to serve Him with our unique abilities.

Great discussion post! A few years ago, our Sunday School class studied spiritual gifts and we all took a questionnaire that helped you discover your spiritual gifts. Mine were encouragement and hospitality. Like the others have said, all of the gifts are important and are needed. On DS, I try to encourage those in need and I'm learning to share my problems so I can be encouraged, too.

My psychiatrist said I have above average insight, which means I can see into things good. I use this for understanding why things happen and why people act the way they do. I also enjoy writing a good fiction story that lets the reader see the consequences of the character's actions in some way. I also like to sew and cook, but I haven't used those talents to their best purpose...yet. I love learning about history. I think that history helps us realize the good and bad things that have happened in the past so that we don't make the same mistakes again. I try to remain clam, for other's benefits.

I took several different test, one said I had a highscore in Mercy and the other said I have the gift of encouragement. I have my papers somewhere in a box. It had some things I needed to watch out for that I would be vulnerable to because of my gift.

I've taken one of those tests and scored the highest in teaching and encouragement. I currently teach a children's Sunday School class and I'm an Awana Co-commander. I'm also a college professor.
