Hi krystal, your relationship with God, the love you feel from him and his presence in your life has nothing to do with anyone else. Not anything that is said, their intentions, their religion, etc. What I have learned is that man is capable of being corrupt. They can even corrupt the word of God for their own interpretation, views, intentions, etc. And that in itself means that if you don't feel the love, good, inspiation behind it then it most likely came from a place of fear, hate, judgment, etc. Which would discredit the source. God is good, God is holy, pure and love. He wants to take fear away, he wants to take away our worries sorrows and reasons of being afraid and fill our lives with opportunities to grow to be trusting in him, to be so consumed by his love that we spread it onto others and touch others with his love and mercy. Everything else you mentioned is a distraction from that and not worthy of your time and energy because they come from the wrong place. Ask for Gods help to focus all your time and attention back on him, back where its worthy and see how all your concerns for all you mentioned above get put in perspective and how insignificant and awful they were to begin with.

God is worthy of us realizing who he really is and the answer is love. If any other source comes from fear, judgement or hate you know it didn't come from our heavenly father and you ask him for guidence so confused you shall not be.

I think if you have experienced mean Christians..then they aren't mature in the Lord. All Christians are in a process of sanctification where they eventually give up themselves completely to God and The Holy Spirit..some Christians are holding on to sin or parts of their soul and not surrendering. I pray you come to have a relationship with God because thats where the true joy and peace come from..Not from going to church.
God Loves you dearly. When you know that with all of your heart then you will not care if other people act mean or not .

Boy your last sentence says it all doesn't it? (I just wish Christians actually followed what Jesus said.) I couldn't agree more.

I think the two replies you already received are great and I don't have a whole lot more to say. I just want to encourage you to continue to seek out God in spite of what other people say or do. There are mean judgmental people in all areas of life. Sometimes they help us grow more in Christ by helping us extend grace...which is what Jesus wants us to do.

I have been an all-in Christ follower for about 6 years now and I still find things to repent about. Thoughts...things I said or didn't say and even things I did or didn't do. It's a struggle and I am so thankful God is forgiving. Even the Apostle Paul struggled with this and talks about it in Romans Chapter 7: 21-25 So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature[d] a slave to the law of sin.

Christians are to be compassionate and kind and non judgemental
We should share the love of Christ through caring and sharing a Christian discipleship and meeting needs in people’s lives as the Lord provides

You will Not find judgmental Christians here but kind people who are more concerned with kindness and the fruits of the Spirit

There are two ways to share Christ with unbelievers.

1. Hell and damnation
2. God's love

In days past, like in the 1950's, hell was the best approach. While it may have seemed like people were trying to scare people into the kingdom of God, most people knew the gospel and when someone spoke of hell, it reminded me they needed to change their distance to God.

Today the above doesn't work. People want to find love and acceptance, not judgment and condemnation. So we do need to present the gospel in a way which still preserves the integrity of the truth of the gospel, but also tugs hearts to seek out and find the living and loving God.

"Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Romans 8:1

What a reassuring verse from the Bible where instead of fear, we are reassured that Jesus is loving, and kind, but it does not take away from the holiness of God.

As for judging those who judge well, maybe we all need to stay away from that! If you find that people are snobs, mistreating you, then it really is time to find a church where there is love and fellowship. Jesus said that people would know we are Christians by the love we have for one another.

"By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:35

I think that is a goal for all of us. But we all need to remember we won't be perfect until we see Jesus face to face, either when we die, or when he returns. (1 Cor. 13:12, 1 John 3:2) That means loving those who don't seem to love us instead of responding in anger to them.

We need to let God fix those who are not living for him. But, we also need to move on to a safer place, and find people who can help us on this exciting journey with Christ.

I must say something here. We must learn not to judge others. Especially if we don't wish to be judged. I have learned attending church is a personal experience.
My pastor once confronted me with rumors that were being spread about me. Hmmm...fancy that...people were so concerned about me, they were spreading rumors. Oops. They're problem. We both got quite a laugh. Why were they so concerned about my issues, and not their own. I told the pastor I appreciate his concern, but...people were going to talk. I would rather they talk about me (who leaves it in God's hand to take care of) than to talk about others who might be more sensitive and unable to handle it. Hahaha...
Then, I went home and me and God had a good belly laugh.

The Spirit of God in you prevented you from becoming upset and bitter in that situation

The situation is that are all these negative Christians being judgmental? Yes, we have some bad Christians and yes, all Christians sin. Truth be told, there is a hell, but how do we as Christians explain it in a loving way without omitting parts of the Bible? Jesus taught about hell and mentioned it quite often, but if a Christian is actually being self-righteous, then shame on them. However, we must be tough on sin in and out of church. We must not sway to either extreme of the spectrum. God is love AND just. Having said that, each one of us must ask, what is love? Is it apathy? Is it conformity? Is it ignoring problems in our society? No, that's not love, it's fear when it's not addressed. However, I'm gonna say this though: I love everybody and through that love, in love, I'm gonna point out plusses and minuses when needed. That is the true Christian life.
