I think I might get this book today..because I am having difficulty realizing who I am in Christ.

I take solace in that fact that I am a vessel of Christ and his love. Until I prayed for this opportunity I too struggled with my identity. I was not confident in myself and what I had achieved. I felt I was a perfectionist always seeking what I have yet to do, what I fall short on (i.e. I've always wanted to volunteer more, save the world, give more of my time, plant trees, etc.) however I realized these are all well and good, but if you lack the confidence of having a relationship with the lord, of truly feeling like all you want is to be his servant and a way for others to feel his love through you, then I would always struggle with my identity. So I prayed for God to let me just be his, to let me emit his love in order for others to be blessed in love. When I asked God for this, I no longer allowed doubt in what I lacked to reign in my thoughts, and started to believe in my capabilities. I am a child of God, we all are. I just want to love my neighbor and let him experience God's love through me. If that helps them get through the day, I've done my part, if that inspires them to seek more love, I will be honored, if that allows them to have a realization that they want that love all the time and want to know how, I will tell them, trust in the lord and he will give you that peace and love you seek.

I read an article about a man who had a NDE that helped me in this. He said that he was an atheist and was brought to heaven. He was puzzled as to why since he did not believe nor live his life according to love or peace. God responded that the gentleman's mother constantly prayed for him to find God and that's why he was there, because she had so much love and so much love and faith and wanted him to know God. He then told him he had to go back because his work was not done on earth. He begged him, please don't let me go back, it's so peaceful here... the only reason why he'd want to go back would be to let him mother know that he was saved and he wanted her know he was ok and with God. But God responded by showing him 1000's and 1000's of faces. He said I need you to go back for them. He didn't understand as he did not know or really have love for these people. But God did, he said these are my children, they are the lives you will touch with your story, and I LOVE them.

So in essence, thinking about how we can touch others through just being a vessel of God's love I think can lead to the "changing the world attitude". One loving embrace, smile, touch, caress... at a time.

Thank you Rosebud, I do know that I am a vessel and want always to show Gods love through myself. I am confident in that . I love the Lord and want to be with him always.

My problem is that I have been told such evil things and have been abused in my past and so the enemy uses those memories to attack me. the enemy uses them to lie to me and I am a very naïve person and trusting.

Keep on loving and giving and I will to because God is more powerful than satan and he will win in the end. We fight a spiritual battle. Drawing near to the Lord is when we will win. I need to erase the lies and so need to be reminded a lot to undo all the nasty stuff. God bless you amen

You know what will help? Realizing that when you get to heaven, there will be sooooooooooooo many who will say, "because of you, I am here!":

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

The book of Hebrews says it so well. We have witnesses. These are people who are around us on a daily bases. We have sooooooooooooooooo many opportunities to show God's love.

But first we must learn to put the past in the past. This is not easy, I agree. But it must be done.

You see, Jesus has put our past sins and stuff IN THE PAST!!! I love the song, "as far as the east is from the west." This is such a vivid picture. You see, when you go east, there is always farther east to go. When you turn around and go west, there is always farther west you can go. They never meet!!!!

Another thing someone said is, "God takes all your sins, throws them in a big pond, then puts up a 'NO FISHING" Sign. That means you too. You are not allowed to "go fishing" and bring back those forgotten sins.

I will continue to pray that you will find your identity, IN CHRIST. Things get really cool when you are able to do that.

The redeeming blood of Jesus Christ is amazing . Where would I be without it . I'd be so lost .Thank God for loving us so much & giving up his only begotten son for our sins( refer to John 3 :16 for an accurate verse ) .

How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
