What is a missionary? What comes to mind when you think about a missionary? What does the Bible say about doing missionary work?
First, let me clarify that missionary work is not just going overseas and witnessing there. Sure, that's part of it, but it's not the whole story. What missionary work is, is witnessing to other people. That's about as clear and simple as I can put it. It can involve going to your local park, your workplace, or to another country. Anywhere where there are humans, God has a plan for us to reach.
But that's not all. Missionary work isn't just about places on a map. It's not just about certain countries or your own country. Missionary work is also about reaching other cultures or your own. Take the Incas for example. If you were to witness to them, your ministry would take you anywhere from Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, to even Argentina and Chile.
Yet there's still more. Missionary work is also about reaching those with certain needs. It can include reaching alcoholics, drug addicts, the poor, street kids, and also even here on DS. It also includes certain activities such as building churches in communities the world wide to VBS activities for children.
The Bible has a great lesson about Missionary work. Paul is a great living example of that. From being known as the Christian-hater Saul, he later was renamed Paul after his change and became one of the greatest missionaries of all time. The Lord sent him to places such as Greece, Asia Minor (now Turkey), Rome (now Italy), Patmos.
Looking at Galatians 3:6-9. This passage indicates the importance of missions. "Consider Abraham: 'He believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.' Understand, then, that those who believe are children of Abraham. The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: 'All nations will be blessed through you.' So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith."
Now, looking at verse 8. Back in Genesis 12:3, 18:18, 22:18, and 26:4, it gives you an idea that the Lord intends to bless all nations with His Word. Imagine that.
Also, Jesus Christ Himself was always for going out and making disciples. In Matthew 10:5-15, Jesus sent His twelve disciples on an evangelical mission to the lost sheep (needy) in Israel. Also, just before Jesus ascended to heaven, He instructed His eleven remaining disciples to go out to all the world and evangelize and preach the good news (Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-18, John 21:15-17).

It is so important to spread the Gospel of Christ.
I did mission trips in my teens.
We did a expedition through Mexico all the way to the Beautiful country of Belize.
It was an incredible experience.
It definitely showed me that the Lord's message can transcend all languages &
barriers.
We can be missionaries in our own neighborhoods too.
A simple way to do it is to invite friends over for Pot-Luck & Bible Study.
It's always great to have a new believer or someone who is searching for Christ
there, because it is usually a warm atmosphere and a small gathering.
We all have the necessary materials to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Just pick up your bible and start spreading the Good News!
