There are good and bad news. Let's go with the bad news first.
Today, after some tornadoes passed through our town last night, some strong wind knocked down the huge tall dead tree in front of our house and the tree put several big deep cracks on our roof and tore out the front part of our car under the hood. The wind or whatever it was didn't pull out the tree's root but busted the upper part of the tree. It appeared that the tree fell over the roof and rolled down to the ground. Some thick long branches stabbed deep onto the roof.
I contacted our home and car insurance company and a tree removal person, and they are working on repairing the damages. There is $2,500 deductible. We hope that the tree removal people can remove the tree trunk and branches and put a tarp on the roof before the rain comes. There was rain before the tree got knocked down at 7:00 a.m. I haven't made it to look at the second floor yet because there are stuffs blocking the stairs. A lot of stuffs in the two rooms upstairs definitely got damaged from the branches stabbing through the roof, and if a tarp does not get on the roof before the rain comes, it will be very bad.
Now, the good news. I got on the phone with my daughter's long-distance guy today (after the tree incident happened) and asked him whether he wants to break up with my daughter. His answer is no. He said he wants to come back to visit either in August or December if my daughter wants him to since he has seven more days of vacation time left. So the situation right now is the boy and me are not communicating except for today when I called him on the phone. He and my daughter have been in touch but my daughter felt he was backing out. I told the boy if anything I said to him offended him, I am sorry. I was in deep emotional distress for four weeks thinking they were breaking up. The other guy who is a good friend of my daughter is coming around (because my daughter reached out to him when she felt the boy was dumping her). I told the boy about it when I was on the phone with him. I have been trying to keep everyone from getting hurt emotionally.
Please pray for us about this roof damage situation and for my daughter and the guy. You all have a good weekend and stay safe and well.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

About the young man, I don't think he knows it was me who stopped my daughter from getting with the other guy. He feels I interfered too much and that I tried to control my daughter. He has issue with trust and does not communicate well. Since my daughter reached out to the other guy and they started to talk more often, I wanted to let him know she may wander away from him again. When the young man came to visit this last time, the two looked so happy together. His friend who came with him and is his support blew it (long story). Now my daughter feels the boy is backing out (from the relationship) since he acted cold and distant after he left. This boy does not trust me right now and is keeping distant from me. It looks like it will be difficult for my daughter to feel he still cares about her. The long distance situation makes it difficult for her to feel connected with him since he does not do well in communicating. The boy is elven years younger than my daughter so that is one of the problems since he does not have much experience in life and can't relate to my daughter's problems. I think one of his good qualities is he has been working since he finished highschool and has a good paying job right now working in a factory. Please keep them in your prayers. Please pray for us that we will be able to get this roof replaced. The $2,500 deductible is a challenge. We have not been able to get the fence replaced because the insurance gave us only $779 after $1,000 deductible. They estimated that it will cost $1,779 for replacement of the fence. I probably will end up with having a handyman doing the work instead of a company but this will cost more than $779.
I pray you and everyone have a nice weekend. Thank you for your reply to my post.
