Satan's meeting Against God
Satan called a worldwide convention of demons. In his opening address he said, "We can't keep Christians from going to church." "We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth." "We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their savior." "Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken."
"So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners, but steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ." "This is what I want you to do", said the devil:
"Distract them from gaining hold of their Savior and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!" "How shall we do this?" his demons shouted.
"Keep them busy in the nonessentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered.
"Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow."
"Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles."
"Keep them from spending time with their children." "As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!"
"Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice." "Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive." "To keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly." "This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ."
"Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers." "Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day." "Invade their driving moments with billboards." "Flood their mail boxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products , services and false hopes."
"Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's important, and they'll become dissatisfied with their wives." "Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night." "Give them headaches too!" "If they don't give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere." "That will fragment their families quickly!"
"Give them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their children the real meaning of Christmas." "Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about his resurrection and power over sin and death."
"Even in their recreation, let them be excessive." "Have them return from their recreation exhausted." "Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation." "Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead." "Keep them busy, busy, busy!"
"And when they meet for spi ritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences."
"Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power from Jesus." "Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause." "It will work!"
"It will work!"
It was quite a plan! The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get more busy and more rushed, going here and there. Having little time for their God or their families. Having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives.
I guess the question is, has the devil been successful at his scheme?
You be the judge! Does "busy" mean:
B-eing
U-nder
S-atan's
Y-oke?
Please pass this on, if you aren't too BUSY!
God bless.
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen. - I peter 5:8-11

Happily, we have a better plan. Let us remember that the Word is a lamp for our feet; a light for our path. When the stuff of BUSY intrudes, let us pray that our eyes return to and remain on Him.
Paul thanked God for the people in the Church and he petitioned God for them as well
He petitioned God for wisdom and revelation. He asked that their eyes would be opened and that’s my prayer as well.
It’s my prayer that each of us here would have our eyes opened so we can see the fullness of who Jesus Christ is
Informed Christians, need not be in a position to be caught off guard
Satan's advantage is based upon one being "ignorant of his devices"
But if we are aware of the methods Satan uses to lead people astray, we can resist him successfully
Some of satan's devices are:
blind minds of peiople
get people hooked on things of the world
persecute those trying to do right
I also read this from a website.
Before we can resist the Devil, we must submit to God!
In (Eph. 6:10-11), the Bible says, “Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the Devil’s schemes.”
3. It is clear from these three passages that if we want to defeat Satan, we must rely upon God.
ILLUSTRATION:
A little girl was once asked how she defeats Satan. She said, “When Satan comes knocking at the door of my heart, I send God to answer the door. When Satan sees God, he says, “Ooops, I am sorry, I must have the wrong house.”
4. The reason why we need God’s strength and help in battling Satan is because we as humans are powerless when it comes to battling Satan alone. He is too strong for us to fight alone. We need God’s strength to help us conquer Satan.
ILLUSTRATION:
In the Encourager, Charles Mylander writes: “Sunrise was dawning when Los Angeles motorcycle police officer Bob Vernon saw a red pickup truck speed through a stop sign. This guy must be late to work, he thought to himself. He turned on his emergency lights and radioed that he was in pursuit. The pickup pulled over, and the officer approached.
“Meanwhile in the truck, the driver thought, The cops already know! He was scared. He rested his hand on the same gun he had used a few moments before to rob a twenty-four-hour market. The sack of stolen money was beside him on the seat.
“The officer said, ‘Good morning, sir, may I see your…’
“He never finished the sentence. The driver shoved his gun toward the policeman's chest and fired from just inches away. The cop was knocked flat seven feet away.
“A few seconds later, to the shock of the criminal, the officer stood up, pulled his service revolver, and fired twice. The first bullet went through the open window and smashed the windshield. The second tore through the door and ripped into the driver’s left leg.
“Don’t shoot! The thief screamed, throwing the gun and sack of money out the pickup window.
“What saved the policeman’s life was dozens of layers of Kevlar, the super strong fabric used for bulletproof vests. Only three-eighths of an inch thick, Kevlar can stop bullets cold.”
5. In Ephesians 6, the Bible instructs every Christian to put on the full armor of God. Only God can shield us from the deadly bullets of sin that Satan fires at us.
6. When you are under spiritual attack, meaning that you are being tempted to sin, or an evil thought crosses your mind tempting you to do wrong, the first thing you need to do is go to God in prayer and ask Him to help you to defeat it.
a. If you are angry, and are about to say something ugly, go to God in prayer and ask Him for help.
b. If you are about to lust over another human being, go to God in prayer.
c. If you are about to gossip about someone, go to God in prayer.
7. Go to God in prayer and ask Him to give you the strength to overcome the sin. When you ask, He will help you escape that temptation.
8. To defeat Satan, we must first turn to God. We need God's assistance to win the war against Satan and his troops.
II. SECOND, TO DEFEAT SATAN, WE MUST RESIST HIM.
(James 4:7) “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you.”
1. The Greek word translated “resist” (antistete) literally means “take a stand against, oppose, or resist."
2. Resisting Satan means opposing him, turning away from him, and having nothing to do with him and the temptations that he throws at us.
3. A great passage of Scripture that we should use to resist the Devil is in (Titus 2:12) which says, “say no to ungodliness and worldly passions.”
a. Often times, we say maybe to sin instead of no, leaving the option open for us to say yes. This is not the way to resist Satan or his temptations.
b. Have you ever had a salesperson try to sell you something at your front door? Often times we don’t want to tell them no, so we will tell them to come back later when our spouse is home. Guess what! Since we told the salesperson maybe, he or she will come back that same night to make the sell. Salespeople are persistent.
c. If we say maybe to sin and the Devil, then he will keep coming back until we say no. To resist sin and the Devil, we must say a firm “NO” and shut the door.
Thanks for posting this Kathilee. I hope lots of people read it even if they don't comment
John 15:5
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. (King James Bible)
This is a GREAT post Kathilee and thank you for taking the time to share it with us. Your reply here when you speak about going to God in prayer brings one of my favorite hymns to mind and I am humming it as I type these words...
What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privelege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless sin we bear.
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still out refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He'll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.
Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear.
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer.
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.
