Only You and God

When I lived in Brazil I took my mom and her friend to see Iguacu Falls, the largest water falls in the world. I’d become an expert by reading an article in National Geographic magazine. Surely, I thought, my guests would appreciate their good fortune in having me as their guide.
To reach the lookout point, you must walk a winding trail that leads through a forest. I used the time to give a nature report to my mom and her friend. I caught myself speaking louder and louder. Finally I was shouting above the roar. Even my mother would rather see the splendor than hear my description. So, I shut my mouth.
There are times when to speak is to violate the moment. When silence represents the highest respect. The word for such times is reverence. The prayer for such times is “Hallowed be Thy name!” (Matthew 6:9).

Not every one can get to such magnificent places in the world. In Canada we share "Niagara Falls" with the people of Niagara Falls New York. I have been there many times, and still remember when I was only seven years old and seeing the Falls for the first time! Wow..I just could not keep my eyes off the waterfalls!
Maybe someone reading this doesn't live near such an awesome natural wonder..but there are places and times when all we can do is be silent and take in the moment of reverence for God and all He has created.
How about any others of you..where have you been in this world that has caused you to just "stop" and be silent at the wonders that you are looking at???
Someday, I hope to visit the "Grand Canyon" region of the USA. On my trip to Hong Kong, I saw some pretty amazing places while there..God's beauty is everywhere..you just have to stop long enough to notice.

Psalm 4:4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Psalm 84:4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.
Isaiah 23:2 Be still, ye inhabitants of the isle; thou whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished.
Jeremiah 47:6 O thou sword of the LORD, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.
Remember to take time and be still before the Lord. It is during these times of silence that God will speak to your heart.
I also remember being in Hawaii and seeing Wayamea Canyon( little Grand Canyon) . You can be awestruck by the beauty that God created..Its everwhere
I havent been many places other than that...I watch with great joy a small baby on the bus..watch as he smiles at everyone that he sees...
Then the Holy spirit whispers to me..You can bring joy to people with smiling..so everywhere I go...I try to bring the Joy of the Lord to people. :)
A time to speak and a time to be quiet.
