Hi everyone. I've posted on here before.
As as brief introduction to me and my struggle, my name is Tori, I'm a believer in Jesus Christ, and I'm an adult survivor of childhood sexual abuse. My uncle molested and raped me (ugh...that word is disgusting) on multiple occasions throughout my childhood. For many years I had repressed the memories, until just a few months ago, when I started having flashbacks and they began to return. I've been in counseling and attending Celebrate Recovery to help me deal with all of this.
That being said, I am often completely overwhelmed on a daily basis. I'm still getting memories back nearly weekly at this point. My mind feels like it's dragging through molasses to do anything. I'm exhausted, numb, emotional, fearful, and often frustrated with myself. I'm a Christian, and I've been trying to hold on to God in all of this, but sometimes I feel like I can't even do that. I feel like my relationship with God is drifting. I can't think clearly, pray clearly, read clearly. I know He's bigger than all of that, but it's so hard.
I keep struggling intensely with fear, wrestling with my desire to run towards God and to flee from Him. I'm having such a hard time with this.
How am I supposed to function? I started a job about a month ago, and it is incredibly difficult to concentrate or remember details. I just feel so small and so slow. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice? Any and all prayers/advice greatly appreciated. God bless you.

Hang in there, Tori. You are in my prayers.
If you continue to look at your mistakes or at the pressures around you, the enemy will continue to have you right where he wants you… defeated, dead and buried. That’s not who Jesus created you to be. Don’t allow the liar to torment you anymore.
Jesus imparted something incredible inside of you before you were born. You have His spirit in you. You were not created ordinary. No, you were fearfully and wonderfully made. You are Jesus' unique creation. You are His treasure poured into an earthen vessel. The vessel you’re in may be fragile and yes, it will make mistakes, but what The Healer has poured inside of you is priceless.
Renew your vows to The King , take His hand and put your trust in Him now. You may have trusted Him once before when you were going through a dark time . Do not put your trust in the things that you can see with your eyes. Do not put your trust in the pressures that are coming against you. It’s only temporary, rather put your trust in the One who created you. Put your trust in the One who is always faithful. Put your trust in the One who’s been with you from the beginning and will be with you to the end. Trust in Him and hold steadfastly in The Word. Jesus will do for you what you could not do for yourself.
When you can’t walk,He will carry you. When you can’t pray, His spirit will pray through you. When you cry,The Father will dry your weeping eyes. When you can’t lift up your head,He will raise you up to heights unknown. The Savior will never leave you & always be with you. Keep your eyes upon Jesus , not the situation. All is in His hands.He has it. It's in His hands. Trust Him. He won’t fail. He cannot fail!
No matter what your situation is right now, I just want you to know this one thing, God is faithful, and He has promised you life in abundance. Rise up from your place of mourning, and shake off the grave clothes. Shake off everything that is weighing you down. Grab hold to the word of God, grab Hold of His hand, and don’t let go of what you know to be true. Allow the peace and joy of the Savior to saturate your life this day. Lift up the name of Jesus!!!! Lift Him up!!! When you do that His joy will shine through and destroy the darkness that was trying to overtake you.
I pray that your days will be blessed and filled with the presence of the Lord.
I pray, in the morning,
that first and foremost,
God fill me with his Holy Spirit
and
I pray for God's help to walk in the spirit and to activate the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)
... for God's Presence
God's Peace
God's discernment, strength, knowledge and wisdom
and God's will
...
God, you are ALL I need.
