I'll pray for you, but is it possible to tell him while you are with a friend? My impression is that it would not be shocking to you if your Dad reacted violently. If you have a friend with you, you diminish the chance that he will react badly.

I remember a similar situation when I was 18. My Dad was furious, & made me move out sooner than i planned. I agree it may be best to NOT tell your Dad til you are ready to go. And have a friend there while you are packing your stuff in the car. Sorry you have the abuse-- is your Mom in the home, or any help?

I had to leave home at age 17. I just took a box of clothes and left, and never went back. I realize today that it really was never my fault - and it is not your fault.

I will pray that God will guide you in the best way to handle this situation. I am also worried about your father's reaction. Even if you tell him with a friend, when your friend leaves, you will be at his mercy. So I would ask that you also wait. For that matter - have a police officer there, on the day you leave. Abuse can escalate and get worse, so protect yourself at all costs.

Thank you SO MUCH for your prayers! Things went a lot better than i expected. I told my father in the car so he couldnt pin me or yell at me really close. and he told me that i cant move out and i told him sternly that i am moving out and he said whatever. After that he acted like i didnt say anything. Now he is upnorth till early next week. :) God has blessed me :).

I am going to pack and move my stuff before he comes home. but he will be home the day i move out :/. i am very stressed
