PEARLS OF DIVINE PROMISES 19
“By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could no be found, because God had taken him away; for before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.” Hebrew 11.5
Enoch is a model for the rapture in the Old Testament. Here we can learn that he was caught up by faith and did not see death. This faith, therefore, was created in him after he led a God-pleasing life. The Holy Spirit wants to create in us the same faith and conviction, when we have carried out the perfect surrender to the Lord. Just as we must not be content with a dead faith for justification, so we must not be content with a dead faith for the rapture.
“See to it that no-one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. See that no-one is sexually immoral or is God-less like Esau who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son. Afterwards, as you know, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected… Hebrew 12.15-17
It is possible to receive the grace of God in vain and cast it away by being obstinately impenitent. For such a unrepentant sinner there comes a time when God withdraws His gracious hand and leaves him to his fate. One can only give the friendly advice to the unrepentant: ‘Don’t toy with grace, like Judas did, but allow yourself to be thoroughly purified from everything that contaminates body and spirit and from all disobedience, so that grace will not become judgement for you.’ For grace will bring either salvation or judgement. Don’t let anyone divert you from your destined goal, whether friend or foe.
“I anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victors crown unless he competes according to the rules. 1.Tim. 2.5
It is often disputed that there are two kind of believers. But according to the Bible this fact cannot be disputed as it is testified to in many passages. Paul talks here about believers who, although fighting, don’t compete according to the rules, that is, they fight half-heartedly and not with total commitment. This half-heartedness can cost them their crown.

The saint and ministers born into the 19th and early 20th century have experienced the holiness movement and the Philadelphia Movement, when God brought to light anew the necessity and possibility of perfection in Christ and complete sanctification of the believer - to be ready for the rapture. The teachings of the lukewarm churches of today do not proclaim the full Gospel, namely the attainment of practical Christian perfection according Mathew 5.48. I am therefore not inclined to promote teachings of any ministers of today. But I hear the voice of the Spirit through many preachers and prophets of the recent past, calling the overcomers and all who have ears to hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
