I use to pay it forward but no longer practice this. Not because I don’t care to help others, but because I like to use my limited resources to help those who actually need the help.

Instead of me paying for something for the person behind me in line who can pay for their own item/s ( necessity or luxuries ), I rather use my limited money to buy a food gift card and give it to someone I see in need of basic food help instead.

Why pay for my items when I can pay for my own when you can use your money to buy needed items for someone who can’t afford it for themselves? Prioritize the need.

Paying it forward it a good heart thought, but doesn’t actually do much, if anything, to address the real issues of people in need. [ PRIORITIZE THE NEED ]

Sometimes when you pay for the car behind you, it inspires them to pay for the car behind them and so on. There is a chance it ends with someone who had to buy food for the kids with their gas money....now thanks to the kindness of strangers, the gas money is there. The Lord works in mysterious ways. I heard someone call into KLOVE saying someone paid for his meal at a drive through when he could pay for it himself. The experience inspired him to do something for someone in need.

What we need to remember is that paying it forward doesn't have any rules or guidelines. Paying it forward could mean holding the door for someone, when we are trapped in our own daily stress we can say "not today" look up and smile at the world, spreading love and good intent doesn't cost a cent. It's all in the spirit in which we do things. I strongly believe that if we do things with the spirit of Jesus' love in our hearts it has the power or touching someone more powerfully than if we were to do the same act because we felt we had to. Not only does this day bring good habits but it reminds us of what attitudes we should be processing daily.
