Its got nothing to do with ME... how I act is supposed to be determined BY WHO I KNOW... it is not I that act, but Christ within me, who comes alive and directs my path. If my actions don't align with who I know, then how well do I really know him? Now that is not to say that we don't pass through momentary clouds of self where our actions are self-inspired rather than God inspired, but when we KNOW HIM, we quickly receive the conviction of His spirit, and our actions then realign with His, and our repentance carries us over the threshhold as we receive His gracy and mercy.

Re: the second question....

NONE of us is GOOD. Its never about how GOOD we are... even we we appear to be good, its not US being good... its HIM MANIFESTING WITHIN AND THROUGH US that gives us that illusion of our own goodness. If we are deceived into thinking that our goodness is self-made, then we are prideful, and that does not correspond with the spirit of the One whom we allege to KNOW.

Its not about knowing Christ. Its about BEING CHRIST... or even moreso, about allowing Christ to BE in and through 'us'....

To answer your original question, it is neither. If it was how we act then Christ was/is unnecessary. It is not who we know but rather who we accept.

You will know why You recieve the Holy Spirit.

Gzus, if your first question relates to Jesus Christ when you mean "who", then it's about who you know. How you act is all dependent on allowing the Who to direct our lives through the Holy Spirit. That will lead us to act in a great way.

Christ paid the price on the cross, so good doesn't even adequately describe to Christ. So, that question should be reworded as: "Is it about how great you are, or how great Christ is?" The latter would apply because our "great works" only count as filthy rags without Him.

I know we are supposed to pick one, but it's actually both. We have to pick Christ as our savour AND it's how we act too. That one is really important. We know this thru Paul's letters in the NT. Paul tells us on how we are to act in Christ. I love reading those books! It explains exactlly what we must all do.

If we just pick Christ and still not act accordenlly, is that what Christ wants from us??? To just believe, but still go out and sin and do bad things? Certainly not! (as Paul would say :>) )

If you believe christ died on the cross for being a good moral teacher then you are sadly lost. His blood can only cover our sins if his sacrifice was perfect...the innocent murdered for the guilty, he took my punishment and yours. I submit to you in love, that your questions and remarks were only made in order to stirr up strife...yet Gods word says seek peace and persue it, it also says if it is possible as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Paul wrote about you saying you will die in your sins. Your guilt remains. We are purified throu confession and REPENTANCE...by God. The sacrifices of God are a humble and contrite heart, a humble and contrite heart o' God you will not despise. Your words are neither written in humility or with a contrite heart. I emplore you, confess your sins...simply saying you are a sinner isnt walking in love for God which means to obey his commands.

Christianity means christ like. Christ walked among us pure, he had no sin to confess but instead sacrificed himself the innocent...for us the guilty He is my judge and yours...when he was here he did not take equality with God as somthing to be grasped, but instead made himself to be nothing...if he who will judge you made himself to be nothing, HIM who was equal to God(which is why he was murdered...because he claimed to be who he was and by the law the jews had to kill him for blasphemy) HUMBLED himself to death even death on a cross and you do not humble yourself and repent of your sins I tell you the truth your condemnation is deserved.(again pauls words)

You try to tell yourself your sins are not sins. The holy spirit has allready convinced you that your sins are sin...you are walking in impurity, your own words testify against you and by the mesure you use, so it will be mesured unto you. I love you in christ. Do not merely listen to the word and so decieve yourselves, DO WHAT IT SAYS. Faith without works is dead.
