Christian Fellowship Community Group
A safe place for Christians who Love Jesus Christ to meet and ask for prayer and share scriptures from the bible. We value the posting of Christian music, poems, stories and also personal testimonies. Please let us know your needs, concerns and have some fun getting to know each other. We treat each other with respect.
Here is a place where we pray for each other, and we truly care. We love to share what God is teaching us every day.
Thanks kathilee for welcoming our newest members, and I join you in the welcome!

We started reading the Bible out loud 35 years ago..... long time huh? And we are in the Book of James. ( In this class) I just think it is pretty cool to have the same teacher and same class all those years, reading the Bible through. We say we hope we finish it before Jesus comes, but if not we will finish in Heaven.
I have been married for 27 years. God has done miracles throughout our married life.
My soul gets rather weary at times hearing so much in the world today where people do not believe in God and seek to make everything about how everything "goes".
There is only one way to the Father and it is through Jesus our Lord and Savior.
I keep my eye on Him and know that he has a plan for us individually and collectively. Trusting Him, acknowledging Him, and seeking Him keeps us in His plan and will for us.
I love the book of Isaiah for it's many prophecies of Our Lord.
I have been in chronic pain for the past 11 years and it has been quite the eye opener.
I thought I trusted God but I think I was trusting more in my own abilities. But now I see that trust in God is all that counts.
Thank you for your warm welcome! I enjoy you all very much.

Its so nice to meet you and thankyou for sharing about yourself. It sounds as though you had a beautiful childhood. It was wonderful that you knew about God at such a young age.
I am sorry to hear that you have been in chronic pain..I know what thats like..i experience it myself..I do believe the Lord is healing me.
I think I will reread Isaiah..I havent read it in awhile. You sound as though you are very knoweledgable
about the bible.

Chronic pain is debilitating, I have oesteoarthritis and fibro that area constance source of pain. I have taken to wearing fingerless gloves inhouse whenever I can and good wool socks. I cant take much forpain ecept the occasional asprin. and at times I would rather curl up and go into a coma. But I rejoice because I can feel pain, it reminds me I am alive.
Every one thinks I am so silly because when it is very hot I have no pain, and the humidinty is better than the hurting. Think I need to move to the desert.
I am BB. I was raised in a good Christian home, but wandered away from my faith in high school. From there I married a guy who had also falled out of favor with God.
When we married he promised me that when we had kids we would become a church family. Well the kids are now 25 and 29 and I have repeated ask him to go back to chruch and he has refused. My greatest failing as a person is to have NOT raised my kids in a Christian, church-going home.
Within the last 5 - 7 years of our marriage the conflicts just never seemed to end. I have several physical disabilities as well as suffering from medication-resistant major depressive disorder (MDD) and chronic anxiety (GAD). I was forced to quit my teaching job of 20 years due to the depression and anxiety, so I am now on disability.
Last October 2011, we decided to separate for 6 months to work on our own problems, and then get back together and work on "our" problems. Well...... 6 months turned into 9 and then 14 at which point he had filed for divorce. We were 10 days away from a court hearing when I talked him back into the marriage.
Just recently, I have discovered that he has (undiagnosed, my and my therapist's opinions) Asperger's Syndrome. His inability to pick-up social cues and participate in casual conversations, even just between the two of us had led me to the conclusion that he was verbally and emotionally abusive. In actuality, he just doesn't know how to be social. He needs routine, and everything done his way. I have "given in" to his demands all through the marriage. It has led me to depression, taken away my once strong sense of self and given me anxiety that is all but uncontrollable.
While I now understand his problem and can "excuse" his behavior, it still makes my life very difficult. I just wanted to be married to a nice guy with a sense of humor and I got something quite different.
Now that I know about his Asperger's I would never tell him as with everything else in life he would deny he is responsible. I am too sensitive and everything is always my fault. I am tired of this and now wish I would have let the divorce go through. I have some tough choices to make and desperately need God's direction.
On the positive side my time of separation from my husband brought me back to my faith. I just need to know where it is leading me now with regard to staying with my husband for the next 40 years or so, when I know I will never be truly happy or content. We certainly never will become the Christian couple that I always wanted us to be either.
Sorry for the long introduction. I have been on DS for about a month and just now feel like it is time to let down and share my story.

BB..I hear your heartache about your marriage. In fact, I understand Asperger's Syndrome, since a family member of mine also fits that category and it is indeed a challenge to understand them because the syndrome is really on the "autism spectrum" and it's a neurological and biological disorder.
Since I've also worked in the schools with many types of autistic children over a dozen years or more, I understand how these wonderful people's minds work. Yes, they are different, but God made us all different..right?? None of us are perfect, that's for sure.
Your marriage in God's hands would be the best place. It seems you've suffered some, and so sorry that's happened to you. I've been married for over 34 years..and we've also had our fair share of suffering over the years.. My faith in God and trust in HIS intervention into our marriage has been nothing but life changing..we are both so much stronger together as a unit today..but it wasn't always this way.
Thanks for sharing and we will keep you in our prayers. Sometimes just knowing that you aren't alone, can lift the burden of the pain that trials bring. God can perform His miraculous healing that you need for your marriage to be healthy again...I think you did the right thing keeping your marriage together even if you question this for now.
Nothing is impossible with God..and that includes working out the differences between two people who've been married for awhile..don't give up on God's work in your life together.
And if the trials you've lived through have brought you back to your faith..that's a BIG plus! Often times we really don't pay attention to God until we are deep in trials...God has a way of tapping us on the shoulder and telling us that He's with us in good times AND bad..especially when we turn to HIM for the help.
Thanks for being open and sharing..we will pray for your marriage.
In Jesus,
Maddie
jump in when you feel comfortable.
For many years , my husband and I had troubles and one day I cried out to the Lord for help..because I just didnt have any hope left..That was 4 years ago. We went to a great group for married couples called LOVE and RESPECT throught our church..To make a long story short..We have had a complete turn around and we are getting stronger all the time..We have been married 25 years
God wants to heal your marriage . I am praying for you and your husband.
May the Lord give you both peace, joy, laughter, strong LoVE and courage.
Blessings,
Kathilee
I am sorry that some of you have chronic pain as well.
When I was a kid my family went to church every Sunday but pretty much just went through the motions. In my late teens I stopped going to church, certain that I didn't need formal religion because God was everywhere. (Let's call it my hippie phase. LOL)
Years later, I noticed an emptiness and thankfully realized that that emptiness was filled with God but I wasn't paying attention. So I returned to Church and began to read the Bible daily. Now the Lord is the center of my life.
