I want to realize that purpose. Sometimes however I like to take solace in the fact that perhaps our purpose is not always determined on a large scale. We always think big, want to change the world, and in that pursuit we what drove us in the first place. God wants us to live in the moment and to enjoy our journey. If not our talents and use of our time and energy is in vain. If we're not doing it in love, we wont learn from it and grow in the way we are meant to. It's all about the journey after all, not the destination.

May God bring me patients to see things in the way they were meant to be seen. May I learn during my journey and bring my true potential through it.

It is so exciting to me, that a gift that God gave me might be part of His plan!

All these replies have me thinking...and this is just me thinking out-loud

Perhaps we don't get to know the purpose too far in advance because things must happen in a particular order guided by God so that we will be prepared. If we knew, perhaps we would try shortcuts thus falling short. I know God wants us to enjoy life and He rejoices when we do. If I fail at something, I feel bad about it. He wants us to be prepared so we can succeed and enjoy the fruits.

I also believe God doesn't put a dream in our heart unless the potential or the likelihood of it happening is great. I have dreams to travel and see the world. Looking at my savings account tells me there is no way LOL. But I believe that dream would not be there without God putting it there. It could be I get to see the world by going on mission trips through my church or other organizations. No matter how, I'm sure He knows, and He is good with surprises.

I completely agree Misred. I too believe that we are vulnerable as human beings to use too much information to take short cuts. I had read that our souls choose the life path we need via guidance (in regards to how hard, how tough, how much we will learn out of it) because there is something that needs to be gained for our souls to obtain purity and virtues. It makes sense to me that we are to struggle in order to learn, that all situations - good and bad are an opportunity for growth. We just have to stay in tune to the guidance we gently receive from our lord in order to continue on the path that will bring those opportunities forth in the form it was indented to receive them (i.e. a struggle or illness is meant to bring us closer to another person and God rather then have us close our hearts and become bitter).

I had a dream when I was younger and didn't think it could possibly happen but it is happening and it is for Gods glory! My husband needed to be ready as well I had to be ready for it (heart changing and strong enough. God plan IS perfect. We need to have hope, faith and take the leadings of the spirit, by being obedient. God is so wonderful and we need each other for the body parts are not working independently of each other but together they all work together for Gods purposes.
