It's a little late to put this on the forum, but it sort of slipped my mind that I might receive some good input here:
I'm leading a Bible Study tonight and I'm going through the Book of Jonah. We'll get as far as we get, although it's only 4 chapters. I haven't read it for awhile and really enjoyed getting back to it in preparation.
What strikes me is that each of the 4 chapters could stand on their own:
CH 1- has to do with Jonah running from God, and God dealing with him (he can't run from God)
CH 2- Is Jonah finally submitting and reciting a Psalm like prayer in the belly of the fish. He actually thanks God and seems to have full faith that God will restore him (quite a lesson)
CH 3 - He preaches to Nineveh and once they hear God's inspired words they repent (in spite of the fact that they are gentiles, idolators, and enemies of Israel.
CH 4 -Jonah is angry because God DIDN'T judge them and showed compassion- and God deals with Jonah's heart on that issue.
At every turn, God seeks Jonah out and brings him back to the fold (by whatever means necessary).
Anyway, do any of you have thoughts or wisdom that I could add tonight?

he turns away from his rebellion and back to God and the results are amazing arent they?What a revival. God used him abundantly inspite of himself. a change of direction in his life changed many lives savved many souls.
I never fail to be amazed by the story of Noah, What seems like a simple childs story holds great truth of faith and obedience.
