Just last week in church the topic of vocations came up. Our first vocation is to serve God. Our secondary vocation is using our talents and abilities to carry out our service to God.

Finding/choosing our vocation can be confusing. Sometimes we think if we fail to do something big like be a Nun or start up a non profit organization we aren't serving God properly. We need to be reminded that ordinary people can and do serve God in seemingly ordinary ways.

We can say that the image of God deals with humanity's reflection of God in such things as compassion, rationality, love, hatred, fellowship, etc. God exhibits all of these characteristics, as do people.


Both male and female are created in the image of God.
