In every thing give thanks

For at least the last week, Americans have been making plans for Thanksgiving Day. Families and friends plan to spend the day together sharing joy and making memories. Sales at stores entice consumers to purchase a little more than they planned. And television shows offer thoughts about how to cook the best turkey and make the best side dishes. Yes, it is an exciting time of year!
But amid all of this, have we lost sight of the purpose of this holiday? After all, it is Thanksgiving. Do we really give thanks for the blessings we have, or do the hustle, bustle, and expectations that come along with this particular holiday distract us too much?

Thankfulness is a choice, so let’s decide to be extra appreciative of the blessings we have this Thanksgiving

It's true. Having a grateful heart is not always easy, but then again, nothing worth doing ever is. With God residing in our hearts however everything and anything is possible. I have asked God to teach me to be grateful. I have asked him to present me with opportunities to exercise it and recognize it so I can call on him to help me through it, like a father taking the hand of a child and breaking it down for them step by step. Greatfulness, humility, honesty, bravery, praise, love, empathy, kindness, faith....... it can all be achieved in this way. God wants us to count on him to teach us these virtues and will present opportunities in our lives to gain them, like badges. All we have to do is ask.

I am thankful for a heavenly father who loves us so and offers us everything if we are willing to accept it humbly. He is what I am thankful for... for without him it would be impossible for my heart and my state of being to be this happy, this at peace, and this blessed.

Praise our lord for he is great! I love you God!

We have plans to go to my SIL's for thanksgiving. I almost all ways try to come up with excuses not to go. My husband's family is s negative. They always seem to put themselves down. I think because that's how they were raised.

But, I realize it is a great opportunity to inject God and His positivity. Things are a little better each year. But, there is still much work to be done!! For me, it is easier, (and better for my mental state) to focus on the positive!!!
