God bless you Dear. I'm sorry for your health issues but thankful the Lord healed you from Cancer. Healthseeker is right, this time of year is difficult for many people, including me. There is a reason though for God delaying his answers to us. I believe that with my whole being. I have found that being that being thankful for what the Lord HAS done for me greatly improved my mood. Ill send you some scripture that may be helpful later. God bless. Many prayers
You are in my prayers for assurance.
and fragile world,
strengthen our faith,
increase our love,
and let your peace
flow through TC40's heart ,
that she may be
an ocean of calm
in what has become
a restless sea.
In the name of Jesus ,Amen .
I'll be praying for you.
It's good that you're grateful for the job you have. At times like these, you need to find every shred of hope & good you can.
I'm glad that you are cancer free for so long. That is a good sign! But, yes these disease take a toll on our bodies, and the things doctors do to help us, can be a part of the problem. Still I am grateful for modern medicine, as I don't know if I would be alive, with all the damage RA causes, if it wasn't for the modern meds. To say nothing of severe asthma.
I think you may have been steered a little wrong in your theology. God is not a big genie in the sky, and we command (pray) him to do things we want. God is infinite. He knows us better than we know ourselves. The Bible tells a story of God (Jesus) suffering on the cross. If Jesus had to suffer, why do we think we will get off home free?
In fact, it is shown in the book of Job, that God can do what he wants with us, for his glory, and never explain to us why things happen the way they do.
For a long time, I felt that my illnesses were random, or from the devil. Then, God called me to seminary, and showed me that we learn and grow as Christians, IN our suffering.
"More than that, we rejoice in our suffering, knowing that suffering produces perseverence and perseverence produces character and character produces hope. And hope does not disappoint, because God's love has been poured out through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." Romans 5:3-5
So, instead of thinking God is against you, or not listening, know that he loves you, and he is going to use your pain to develop you into a mature Christian.
Now, I think God has a different plan for me. I'm just at the beginning of that journey. But, God has shown me that whatever happens, he is sovereign and in control, and he is working out his purpose in my life. I admit I have been a bit bitter about my pain lately, but God has never left me for one second in this whole difficult period.
What God has shown me about prayer is this: It is not about getting from God, it is about developing our relationship and getting to know him better. So, if you talk to God, and you hear his voice, that is the answer to your prayer. The thing about knowing God better, is that is going to last forever. Getting healed, and easier life, more money are just temporal and for this world., But knowing Jesus! That is for eternity.
Don't be swayed by the teachings of name it and claim it, or blab it and grab it. That is NOT the Kingdom of God. God wants us to grow to maturity and serve him. If you are doing that, then God is answering your prayers.
I do believe in praying for things, but I also acknowledge that God's ways are not our ways, and sometimes, God is not really knowable to our finite minds. But, he has promised never to leave or forsake us (Hebrews 13;5) and knowing Jesus, the King of the universe loves me, is all I really need!
Please feel free to ask questions here, or bring up Bible verses. God bless!
Thank You !!
19 “Don’t store up treasures here on earth where they can erode away or may be stolen. 20 Store them in heaven where they will never lose their value and are safe from thieves. 21 If your profits are in heaven, your heart will be there too.
Matthew 6:19-21 Living Bible (TLB)
I have a permanent disability and suffer daily as I try to make it through the end of the day .Fortunately , this suffering has brought me closer to Jesus/God .
To quote Marlene :"We win."
Christians are victorious because HE overcame .Hallelujah!!!!!
Jesus suffered far greater than I ever have and I Must keep my eyes fixed on HIM & NOT my suffering .
