I want to share my story with hopes that it might encourabe others. I was raped at the age of 10 by my aunt's adopted son. He is developementally slow and 14 years older than me. I will never forget that summer in MS. I remember the events like it was yesterday. I started developing very early and he and other family members would make comments about my early developement. He "Lee Andrew" was in love, really in love with my sister who is 4 years older than me. He'd stare at her for hours and at the end of the night would sing songs outside our room to tell her how much he loved her. I told my aunts that he made me uncomfortable by at that age who listens... One morning I woke up completely naked and there he sat staring at me. No one else was in the house. I'd ask my aunt not to leave me there with him but again who listens. After they assessed the situation they called my mom... who was in MI and told her that she needed to come to get me early... Thus starts the drama. My mom was very emotionally abusive but it turned physical when I returned home. Nothing I did could please her and the fact that we were both pregnant at the same time was horrible. I was 10 and could not understand what was going on with my body... Weeks had passed and I had to have a special procedure... so the family called it(abortion). Shortly afterward my litter sister was born. I was forced to care for her as if she were my child but I did not mind at all. (She is now 19 and graduating from college in 3 wks) We never talked about what happen and my mom did not want to know. We still have not talked about it.
When my stepdad ( the only dad I've known) came home from the special place (prison) We were the best of friends. I could tell him anything.Until my mom accused me of sleeping with him. By this time I was fourteen and already scared of what the next day would bring... When my dad told me he was leaving my mom, I told him what she said to me. She said if her husband leaves her she'd kill me. I did not wait to stick around. I ran away at the age of 14. I was homeless and helpless. I became a cop snitch for the rug dealer to make money. I would tell the dealers when the cops were on the block. On the 1st night of doing so I was drugged raped and sodimized by the dealer. I blamed myself for being in the situation.
I turned 30 this year and decided that I could not live in my secret anymore. I have started forgiving my mother and all involved. It has helped me tremendously. I took an interpersonal communications class to learn how to talk about my past to my friends and family and surprisily it's working.
My relationship with my husband was very rocky until I told him about it. With every new day I feel a little more relieved that I can share this. I've been abused, stabbed and shot at but by the grace of God, I am here and that's no mistake. I ask myself why must I feel so bad everyday... and God answers everyday saying because you have not forgiven your debtor. I let go and start letting God. Only HE is able to keep me. I trust in Him and HE will lead me into his righteousness. I encourage you all to simply Trust God. His vengeance is final and his judgement is just. He forgives you, can you forgive as he forgives without prejudice. Forgiveness starts the healing process. Don't stay in the place you are in
