God spoke clearly and I am so happy I listened. God saved our son that day
Kathilee
Sometimes I cry out to God and feel that all I am met by is silence. But perhaps its this silence that I need. Perhaps its my own thoughts racing and raging in my head that roars and screams at me and which prevents me from hearing that still small voice of calm. I believe that it is at these times that we do need to be still and we do need to know that He is God
The Word tells us we have nothing to fear. But sometimes the fear is all consuming, the grief is so deep, so heavy and so painful that the solace we are seeking cannot be found, even in the words of scripture even in comforting arms
I am crushed by the weight of pain, deafened by the words in my mind, blind to the answers in front of me. At these times and in these moments I carefully construct doors, hammer the nails, turn the key in the locks. Whatever the cause of this heart-wrenching grief within , I become lost in the pain, the loss
Whatever you call it, it hurts because you are seeking comfort, help, direction and you feel abandoned. Many who have endured this say, as you alluded to, that ultimately they came to understand that the dryness was the lesson. For example, Mother Theresa prayed to know what Jesus felt like during His passion. Well, she had something like ten years of dryness. She realized that that pain of separation from God was just a little sample of what Jesus went through for us.
You are in my prayers, Brighte.
Footprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”
Romans 1:18
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (King James Bible)
No matter how intense and seemingly never ending the pain in this world becomes it is truly of no comparison to how awesome it will be when we go home to be with Jesus Christ for all eternity. I think of this verse often when remembering the last days of my grandmother Clara Richardson 15 years ago. She died in agony with pancreatic cancer, but you now what. She NEVER complained. She was pumped up on morphine for several days before she died and it truly only took the edge off of the pain. Yet when taking her last breath she said to my mother "I can see Jesus!!!". The road is not always easy, but He is with us every step of the way for He said He would never leave us nor forsake us. Just try to keep this in your heart when you are suffering so badly. You ARE one day, when he calls you, going home where the old things have passed away brighte. No more pain, no more suffering and no more tears. Just complete joy in the presence of our Savior Jesus Christ. God be with you and ease your suffering my friend in Christ's name I pray, Amen
My prayers are with you. may the peace, hope and Joy of the Lord wash over you.
Thank you for reading this everyone
Brighte, remember, for every mountain top, there are valleys. But God is God in the valleys also.
Here's another quote that reminds me God is always near:
During the test, the teacher is always quiet!!
