Christian Fellowship Community Group
A safe place for Christians who Love Jesus Christ to meet and ask for prayer and share scriptures from the bible. We value the posting of Christian music, poems, stories and also personal testimonies. Please let us know your needs, concerns and have some fun getting to know each other. We treat each other with respect.
Its not Gods will for His children to be depressed. He will deliver you out of depression, but do not expect it to be something that happens TO you... its something that we each have to participate in and cooperate with so that we can actually receive it. Visualize it as if someone is giving you a gift. He comes in and puts it on the table and tells you it is yours. You own it. You can let it sit there unopened for the next 50 years and it doesn't change the fact that it is yours. Sometimes we don't feel worthy of it, sometimes we don't recognize that it really is ours, sometimes we fumble with how to open it... and the whole time, satan is trying to steal it from us!
Opening this gift isn't easy. We are trained by this world not to even recognize that it is right there on our table. Sometimes it is as if it is hidden in a blind spot, but God will open your eyes to it, and He will help you prepare to receive it. He wants you to enjoy the blessings that He has for you, and for you to in turn use that blessing to bless others, to His glory!
The devil IS going to lie to you the whole way. he is going to plant and nourish seeds of doubt in your mind and heart. he will tempt you to doubt that you are deserving, that you are capable, and he will even try to convince you that you are a victim of circumstance and that GOD has done this to you. rebuke the devil and resist his lies.
Every time you have a thought which is not concurrent with what Gods word tells us about who God is, who we are as His children, or anything else... every thought which does not come into submission to the truth of Christ, DONT SPEAK THEM! There is such incredible power in the tongue... power of death and life according to the bible! We are told that we are made in the image of God, and God illustrates creation as being something that happened as the result of what HE SPOKE! So if we are, as Christ said, to do the things Christ did and greater, and are made in the image of one who speaks things into being, and are explicitly told in the Word that our tongue has the power of death and life.... it stands to reason that the best way we can cooperate with receiving deliverance from depression or any other thing is to guard our tongues from speaking ANYTHING which is not aligned to the Truth of Gods Word!
Amos 3:3 asks us "Can two walk together unless they are agreed?"
When you speak, speak in agreement with the word of God, or bite your tongue. We all slip, but when you accidentally speak even the slightest thing which supports and expresses agreement with the devils plan to steal you away from God, rebuke the thought, rebuke the devil, and replace those thoughts with Gods word.
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. I believe that it is not as simple as hearing someone else speak Gods word... I believe that faith grows by our hearing Gods word come forth from our own mouth. It doesn't say that faith comes by reading the word of God, but by HEARING.... so when you hear your own voice, do all that you can do to make what you are hearing being of one accord with the truth of God.
eliminate the word CANT from your vocabulary. You haven't gotten out yet, but that doesn't mean you can't. When you speak "CANT" you confirm it as a limit on your potential. When you say you haven't, there is then an implication that you CAN, even if you aren't sure HOW. Not knowing how to do something is not the same as being unable.
My daughter said the other day that she "cant" tie her shoes. I had to correct her and have her restate the truth, which was "I am having trouble tying my shoes" It may seem like splitting hairs, but these nuances in our language are subtle weapons which the devil tries to fashion against us, because society at large doesn't catch them or correct them, and so they become sort of like numb statements which invalidate us when we aren't paying attention. Become vigilant in recognizing the subtle nuances which seek to undermine your confidence and seek to redefine yourself in accordance with who GOD says you are.
He will lead you out of this, but you need to recognize the areas where the devil is whispering in your ear... as he does to all of us... and he has the world so trained to not notice.
God bless you, and I will keep you in prayer. I hope you will keep in touch.
