Christian Fellowship Community Group
A safe place for Christians who Love Jesus Christ to meet and ask for prayer and share scriptures from the bible. We value the posting of Christian music, poems, stories and also personal testimonies. Please let us know your needs, concerns and have some fun getting to know each other. We treat each other with respect.
I guess in the end, God is the one who needs to change our hearts. And we need to obey.
I'm wonder if giving at the end of the year, if those end of the year dates, gives you a higher tax break? There are reason why people give mostly during the Holiday Season. I don't think they forget about the poor during the year. Maybe a persons budget doesn't know how much more money they need to donate "until" around the "end of" the year, in order for them to get their highest tax break. And there is nothing wrong with that. People have to compare their donating amounts to their salaries. Those calculations don't usually come about til the end of the year. Sometimes donating money at the end of the year, is to be used for the organizations to budget and spread that money out monthly for the following year. If a person "gives", wheather at the end of the year, or throughout the year, it doesn't seem to me that God needs to change "their" heart. God needs to change the hearts of the people that "don't give AT ALL".
Yes, I hear people speak of helping the homeless and the poor throughout the year and not just during the Holiday Season. I hear a lot of talk about it especially on Christian TV, Internet Ads, and on and on.
I believe God directs people to give at the end of the year and during the year and it's between that person and God. I recently found out my favorite race horse Secretariat 1973 Tripple Crown Winner had to be put down several years ago due to an incurable hoof disease called Laminitis. It's very painful and the surgeries are horrible to go thru. I didn't find Secretariat's web site or his Foundation (to find a cure for Laminitis) until last month. I started giving this month (January). I'm glad I found his web site. And I just sent in money to buy the Secretariat Beanie Baby. And a part of that money goes to donation.
God loves a savior.
I understand what your saying I see it more in the people of the world then I do with most Christians/Churchs. before I was saved I never gave it much of a thought unless I was down in N.Y. City and saw it first hand but after I got home I would soon forget about them and the problem and go about my ways. when I started to live for the Lord it was like He changed my heart and gave me the desire to do something about it. I now work with a Group that serves the Homeless year round with food and closthing it is the most rewarding thing I have ever done in mylife. and it opens the door for me to share what the Lord can do and how much He Loves them. it is such a Blessing to see the joy you bring to them.
The church I go to also has a Food Pantry every Friday and we've been seeing more and more of a need each month like tom said (God Loves a cheerful giver) and it doesn't have to be money it may just be your time anyway thats just me I'm going on we can all find a way of helping just seek the Lord He will show You.
God Bless
Good to see You my Friend
