I,d have to say one of my VERY FAVORITES is from the very beginning of the Bible -the story of Joseph- how he could be so mistreated and keep
his faith in God ,and not turn bitter or hateful- how he still loved
them and forgave them in the end-after God had taken him from slave
to ruler of Egypt! He is a Huge ex. of love and forgiving and faith in God!
You have to love the Old Testament story (Num.) About Joshua and Caleb-
Which I feel strongly about because I named my boys Joshua and Caleb.
Who doesn't LOVE the story of the WISE woman Deborah, God sent to be
judge over Israel and her GREAT WISDOM HELPED Israel win the war. :)
wrote,huh?
Maybe perhaps if you had to do a Bible study or imagine being a leader or pastor, etc., what would you love to tell your congregation?
Anyways, I hoped that I helped out some. It's great to share.
The second scripture I love is Matthew 22:36, the same as Mark 12: 28-34 where Jesus is asked which is the greatest commandment and Jesus instead of quoting those ten difficult to keep commandments gives us only two centered on loving God and each other, so much easier to keep and I am so thankful for that!
Thanks PenguinPeru for a great post resulting in a real sharing and not just a debate.
and fuzzy! :)
I believe you would love the book of Daniel too because there's a lot of end-time prophesy in that book too. It's like Revelation in the Old Testament--so to speak.
MeloNC, you're welcome. Being warm and fuzzy is what is all about. :)
Psa 27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
Paul tell us in this scripture that faith is the substance of things hoped for, right NOW. Praise God that he gives us a right now faith to believe that He will do what He promised and He is returning for us. It takes tremendous faith to believe that.
