From 28 Days of encouraging Scriptures for hard times (Quoted from NLT) :
(# 5) Psalm 94:19 "When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer."
(#6) Psalm 119:49-50 "Remember your promise to me; it is my only hope. (50) Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles."
The following Scriptures are not a part of the "28 Days..." But I wanted to share some other verses from chapter 119.
Psalm 119:
(1 ) "Joyful are people of integrity; who follow the instructions of the LORD."
(2) "Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts."
(7) "As I learn your righteous regulations, I will thank you by living as I should!"
(11) "I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you."
(12) "I praise you, O LORD ; teach me your decrees."
(14) "I have rejoiced in your laws as much as in riches."
(16) "I will delight in your decrees and not forget your word."
(18) "Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions."
(24) "Your laws please me; they give me wise advice."
(40) "I long to obey your commandments! Renew my life with your goodness."
(47) "How I delight in your commands! How I love them."
(48) "I honor and love your commands. I meditate on your decrees."
The way I understand these verses is that it gives peace and rest to our souls when we follow and obey God's instructions.
Praise to God is expressed outwardly through our everyday actions, as well as inwardly in our thoughts.
Praise can be expressed in song, in verse, or in prayer and it is to be done continuously!
Your praise to God is evidenced through your salvation.
Romans 12:1 (NLT) Says, 'And so dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living sacrifice --the kind he will find acceptable . This is truly the way to WORSHIP him. "
So I take that to mean that God considers it worship when we honor him with our actions.
I also love 12) "I praise you, O LORD ; teach me your decrees."
