Christian Fellowship Community Group
A safe place for Christians who Love Jesus Christ to meet and ask for prayer and share scriptures from the bible. We value the posting of Christian music, poems, stories and also personal testimonies. Please let us know your needs, concerns and have some fun getting to know each other. We treat each other with respect.
Indeed a proof must not be delivered in judgement, but Gods word is clear that we must not overlook our brothers sin without correcting them, or else we encourage them to sin. Everyone sins, and everyone needs correction sometimes. Its such a challenge to do it properly, but thankfully Gods grace is sufficient, and if we don't get it right, all we can do sometimes is to learn and do better next time, confessing our error. I think it is all too common for Christians to stroke eachother with romantic talk of Gods goodness, but to not dare to correct another because after all, we are agents of free will, and it makes us uncomfortable. Free will doesn't mean that we should let our brother fall into sin and death. We aren't undermining their free will to show them what Gods word says according to HIS will. God gave us free will so that we could make the choice to submit to His will. He gave us free will so that we could give it up, back to Him, and CHOOSE His will over our own. Christians have become very comfortable with sharing the love of God, which is GREAT... but its not all there is... and learning to love our brother by sharing a noncondemning conviction from Gods word is biblical, although uncomfortable.
I just found this link, I havent studied it in depth, but it does talk about how to reprove biblically in the spirit of God. If anyone is interested, I know it is a skill which I dreadfully need to sharpen...

Encourage yes, but love even when it means discouraging someone from something which isn't for their greater good, according to His word. Its a different kind of encouragement, and it runs the risk of unpopularity.
As for the sin part, like a parent, we need to love the sinner but hate the sin. We must encourage a Christian caught up in sin to discontinue the sin. That's why I believe in accountability partners to uphold one another in prayer.
So, in short, my hopes in the above to encourage Christians in their own ministries and prospective ministries and let them know to encourage other Christians they know to do the same.
