DOES GOD STILL GIVE REVELATIONS ?
That their existence in our time is denied by so many, shows, how far we have moved from the New-Testament-Christianity, and that many don't acknowledge the whole Word of God as guideline for their life, but only so much as is convenient and fits in with their experience. Philadelphia-Christians, however, don't dismiss these clearly stated truths in the New Testament. For those who haven't discovered them, the following passages are recommended: (Mt. 11.25-27;16.17; John 14.21; 1.Cor. 2.10; 14.30; Gal. 2.2;Eph.1.17; 3.3)
Of course, foundational, new revelations are not needed anymore, for they are already set down in the Scripture. But what was written 2000 years ago, at first for a different people, in a different language and in different circumstances, is today sometimes hard to understand for many; hence the conflicting interpretations of the Bible, and therefore the necessity for new revelations to understand the basic truths of the Scriptures in the present.
How disastrous the rejection of continual revelations, provided by the Lord, can be for His people, is best shown on the example of the scribes and Pharisees at the time of Jesus. For Jesus did basically bring nothing new, but just interpreted and fulfilled the law and the prophets. The rigid holding on to the letter of the law, without acknowledging its significance for their day, blinded them and consequently robbed them of the offered great salvation; and they lost even the righteousness, they thought, they already had had. When God offers us revelations, we must not reject them or we become guilty of sin: "If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin." (John 15.22) So they had been righteous enough in God's sight, until the coming of the Lord and as long as they did not know better, they enjoyed the approval of God; just like He called the older brother a son, in Luke 15.31 - as a representative of the scribes and Pharisees. Only by rejection of the more perfect revelation through John the Baptist and later through Jesus, they excluded themselves from the possession of salvation. How God judges the rejection of such an offer of grace we can read in Luke 14.21,24.
God does not expect from us to accept any offered revelation untested, for even Satan can give revelations. But we are not dealing with those, as the divine offer, but with the basic attitude to the Word of God, His promises and invitations. We cannot pass them by with impunity.
However, we don't have to believe everything anyone might say, just like that, for God wants to reveal Himself to everyone in a personal and individual way; though this is attached to certain conditions, as expressed in John 7.17: "If anyone chooses to do God's will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own." So even the Lord does not expect us to believe Him without thinking, but promises every single person a direct revelation from God, as soon they comply with His will. But God refuses to reveal Himself to unworthy people, who would squander this blessing by not obeying.

In the USA and other "modern" cultures, we have drifted far from the blessings and power that Jesus promises we can utilize ...if we have faith !
We have become complacent , and satisfied with our abundance , not giving glory to Jesus for our blessings
