Hello there,
I found this group based on a person from another support group. If she reads this I hope she knows how much I appreciate it. Long story short. I suffer from major depression disorder which can be very serious and has been life threatening to me at times.
I went on a youth trip as a sponsor for middle schoolers bc my daughter was going and they needed another female sponsor. I had prayed about it and put it in God's hands because I was supposed to work and had a ton of reasons why my boss should have said no. But it all worked out. I was looking forward to the trip and felt that for some reason God wanted me to be there.
Well it did not go well. I felt like the another sponsor was not a very good role model for my daughter. I felt that my daughter was being encouraged to be the self-centered girl she likes to be. She kept saying it was cute, they are so fun etc. I'm sure she didn't mean to offend me. But I have a really hard time keeping my daughter in check as it is. I ended up having a fight with my daughter on the trip and got really depressed on this trip. I mean really bad. I thought for a bit I should ask them to take me to the hospital.
Anyway, I struggled through the weekend. I find myself now looking back, realizing I didn't handle myself well at all. I feel like I don't know why I was there exactly and feel like I was more of a burden than a help.
I am meeting with the youth pastor and the assistant pastor with my husband. I want to apologize for my depression which I lied and said I had a headache, wasn't feeling good. Etc. because I couldn't deal with telling them the truth at the time because they had a huge group of kids which were the main focus.
I don't know how to handle the lady that I became so upset with. Should I just pray for her or apologize. I never said anything mean but I turned inward, very inward and I guess I was giving her the cold shoulder. She parents her child that was on the trip so differently than I parent my kids and I think that was alot of it too.

I am unworthy of any good thing yet God continues to give me good things all day long all my life. I know that there is nothing good in me, that is in my flesh. I deserve condemnation allready, taking on other peoples guilt doenst increase my undeserving..I can never be worthy of God. I can in humility do for others as christ did for me. This is forgivnes(squared). I consider it to be more than forgivness, but somehing along the lines of perfect forgivness. After all, isnt this what jesus did for me? He was innocent of all sin but took my sin guilt on himself. He also atoned for all sin by his sacrifice. The atonement is done. I do this for you, whatever sin you have...if u were unforgiving or angry or anything, i declare you innocent and i take ur guilt on myself. I pray that God enable me to do this for all people all the time. It is written, what we do to Gods children we are doing to God. It is also written that the only sin that isnt forgiven is griving the spirit. I think griving the spirit means, attributing evil to God continually without any repentance. Most people think...I dont blame God for evil. But remember, whatsoever u do to others..we do to their father and ours who is God. Jesus way with us was perfect. I humble myself before you just as Jesus did for me. He told us go and do as he did for us. I tell you, Go and do as i have done for you and continue to do. In this way your spirit will be perfected in christ. You are innocent to me before me, I am responsible for you and your guilt.
All Glory and honor is always to God our father. It is in his sons holy name that we are able to be washed. Just as he tells us, we will be forgiven only as we forgive others. Jesus forgivness of us was pure and perfect even as we murdered him with our sins. Before we could repent. Before we could believe. We should also behave this way toward others.
I am your servant in Christ to lift you up to the lord. May you be encouraged by the reading of these words.
Have you explained to your daughter why you were upset.
A lot of this is communication in an effective way.
