Christian Fellowship Community Group
A safe place for Christians who Love Jesus Christ to meet and ask for prayer and share scriptures from the bible. We value the posting of Christian music, poems, stories and also personal testimonies. Please let us know your needs, concerns and have some fun getting to know each other. We treat each other with respect.
I speak boldly and I share things in my life because I want people to see how God works inmy life no matter what I am going through. I grew up in ahome where the truth was shoved under a rug. Truth is truth no matter how painful it can be, it will always bring you up out of the bed of lies and set you free.
There is no way I am going to get everyone to like me or think what I say is helpful in any way. I can not let that sway me into giving up and sitting quietly in the corner. There are people who are in bondage and do not believe if there was a God,he would allow their mind and body to go through so much agony. They came to DS for strength and are not interested in hearing about God.
I came here because I have fibromyalgia, but I have found that I am here for many reasons.
questions truely just seeking your opinion-lol
I admit my knowledge on this subject definitly is not where I wish it to be: Are there different kinds of gifts?
Ex> I thought all Christians got faith (Cor.12:9),knowledge(Cor.12:8)
wisdom (also12:8) and discernment (Cor.12:10)
Then there's prophecy,teaching,exhortation,shepherding,showing mercy
ministering,helping,giving,evangelism,hospitality,and celibacy?
Are these the Gifts ? I've never realized by that scripture in Eph.
that God had your gift picked out for you!? I thought you could
pray and ask for what you wanted- ( I never had a scripture for it,
I guess I just always felt like it would work that way.)
1Cr 12:14 For the body is not one member, but many.
1Cr 12:15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
1Cr 12:16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
1Cr 12:17 If the whole body [were] an eye, where [were] the hearing? If the whole [were] hearing, where [were] the smelling?
1Cr 12:18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
1Cr 12:19 And if they were all one member, where [were] the body?
1Cr 12:20 But now [are they] many members, yet but one body.
1Cr 12:21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
1Cr 12:22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
Melo, that passage doesn't say it point blank, but we know God made us and knew our gifts and strengths even long, long before any of us were born. It's really, really DEEP scripture and I sometimes have trouble taking it in. Here's the really deep point. God knows what and who we're going to pray for even before we utter the words out of our mouth. Yes, God gives us the chance to pray, but He waits for us to pray for it sometimes.
God is an awesome God, isn't He?
I highly encourage each of us to be a good witness to the Lord and be thankful for what He has given us. He made us different to serve Him in the capacity that will give Him the glory.
Well, let's give our thanks to the Lord.
