I don't know what to do
Tears are healing , right ?
I desperately needed to hear these verses, they brought me comfort , thanks
I will pray for you and have been dear one
I'm tying myself in knots with these questions that are hypothetical - for now anyway. I can imagine how you must feel Brighte. You remain in my prayers.
2 John 1:9-11
9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. (King James Bible)
I am afraid this tells us that attending a gay marriage ceremony, be the person friend or family, is certainly NOT being true to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We must and have to take a side unfortunately. It is like our salvation. We each chose to confess our sins to our Savior Jesus Christ and to walk in His ways. That means we can't go back to the worldly ways we once engaged in. If we do we are just like the father of lies and deception, Satan himself, and the truth is not in us. Even so you can and MUST keep contact with your cousin in an effort to get him to see the truth which is the Gospel of Christ and then our Savior will lead him out of the sinful lifestyle in which he lives. As Compost said already you remain in my prayers.
No Compost I don't believe its a sin to be a friend of a homosexual.
If we pray for an answer then I believe each one of us will get an answer whether we should attend a homosexual wedding or not to. My heart says not to hurt the person
1 Corinthians 5:9-11
9 I wrote to you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
10 Yet not altogether with fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out into the world.
11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. (King James Bible)
Homosexuals can't have it both ways either. They can't continue in their sinful lifestyle and be a Christian at the same time. They too MUST choose!!! As far as the homosexual wedding attendance thing goes I certainly am NOT going to sit in that group of winesses with my olive wood cross around my neck. If I did I would be the biggest hypocrite in the world!!! That is a place and a situation where we MUST stand for what is right and not be part of it which in doing so is also condoning it in my opinion. I don't want to hurt anyone either, but I must always be setting the example that others should follow. This may put me at enmity with the world and some people, but Jesus said we would be hated by the world and that we should rejoice in that very fact!!!
Was it a sin socializing with he and his partner for the past 25 years?!
Sorry if I mis red what you where saying.
Don't let this be a continuation of the other thread Chris..We get what you are saying ..please stop being so bossy and pushy..Jesus didn't force anyone and His Spirit is not aggressive.. Your tone and attitude is offensive to me...Just so you also know, when you use all caps its considered yelling . So stop now
We don't need to beat a dead horse now do we?
This is the enemies tactics of getting our minds off God and trying to cause turmoil and discord in the group..
I have personally had enough of it..
I know many homosexuals and they are super kindhearted people. The transgendered person is a real sweetheart too. if they don't know they are sinning, then I believe the Lord will reveal that to them when they pass over. then they will have an opportunity to repent.
I don't want to tell Brighte what to do regarding going to her cousins wedding. So instead I threw out some hypotheticals in an attempt to offer a way to think this though.
I apologize Kathilee, that my attempt to assist instead caused dismay.
I wasn't really upset about that but more about other things going on here.
God bless you friend :)
Thanks again for scriptures.
