BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS !
Why do Brothers, who agree with me on the central truth of salvation, take up a completely negative attitude, regarding the Philadelphia-Church and the 12 Marks of Perfect Submission?
Answer: Man is, as the image of God, just like God Himself, a tripartite being; he consists of spirit, soul and body. At conversion and new birth the Holy Spirit takes possession at first of man's spirit, while the soul with its organs of feeling and thinking can still remain a hotbed of spirits of error. Therefore the confusion of doctrinal opinions with people of intellect, whose thinking is not controlled by the Holy Spirit; and who approach the Word of God with their natural understanding, while disputing the possibility of direct divine revelations, which they consequently not receive. Such people are especially suited to be used by Satan as false prophets, without them being aware, of course. They think, no doubt, because they are converted and born-again, that such a thing is impossible. But this is an error, which is already the start of being a false prophet.
Their main characteristic consists of them, trying to put people, who have been woken up by true prophets, to sleep again, by saying: "peace, peace, there is no danger". So warned a leader of a fellowship of my writings with the reason that they are liable to disturb souls. But this is exactly the purpose of the 12 Marks of Perfect Submission, for the waking up of the sleeping virgins (Mt.25) causes unrest, and the false prophets want to prevent this wake-up call, but they will have no success, however, because according to Scripture all virgins will wake up - some of them too late, though.
But these endeavours of preventing the waking up marks the false prophet who can't see that he has a spirit of error himself, which blinds him, as is the case with Laodicean-Christians.
A different fellowship leader too, published an opposing paper for the disturbed souls, which he tried to reassure with the following explanation: Even though the 12 marks came in concentrated form from the Gospel and contain the law of the Spirit of the New Testament - with the exception of the tithe - he will fight them, because they are legalism and MY 12 marks. Obviously the Brother did not realise, despite his great intelligence, that his statement is a contradiction in itself. The Holy Spirit, however, never contradicts Himself.
Who believes that he has to dismiss the 12 marks as legalistic, is like a spouse who feels that his marriage vows are legalistic. To such, one can say straight out, that he is an adulterer, for a true spouse won't consider his vows as legalism. By the same token, who feels that the 12 Marks of Perfect Submission are legalistic, proves that he is a transgressor and not right with God.
For such people the 12 marks should be a mirror for repentance and a guidepost into the Most Holy Place. But who has already entered this sanctum, has no need of the 12 marks anymore, for in the Most Holy Place one is no longer under the law, but guided by the Holy Spirit, who lead us even further than the 12 marks require. There it is possible that they have put all their possessions - like the young ruler and myself - at the Lord's disposal. (by Christian Roeckle)
