Christian Fellowship Community Group
A safe place for Christians who Love Jesus Christ to meet and ask for prayer and share scriptures from the bible. We value the posting of Christian music, poems, stories and also personal testimonies. Please let us know your needs, concerns and have some fun getting to know each other. We treat each other with respect.
So the struggle is one we all face, in one way or another. Some might just be discouraged because of depression. They might feel God has abandoned them. Others might feel they are on fire for God, when maybe they need a med tweak? Still someone else, might really be led of God and start a revival. I'm thinking of people like John Wesley and Jonathan Edwards.
So I think the point is that you are searching for a deeper walk with God, but are wondering where to draw the line between delusions and facts. I know I was given advice very early in my walk. If what you are experiencing lines up with the Word of God, then go for it. If it starts to wander away, then maybe you have? And that doesn't just apply to people who have diagnosed mental illness.
So my suggestion is you get in on our Bible reading Challenge to read the Bible in a year. God's Word can't be learned without reading it. And welcome so much to the group, and for being so honest. I have always admired that about you. You are so open with your struggles. I hope we can all learn from you, and that you continue to participate here and share with us as we all deal with our personal issues, and post about what God is saying to us. This is a group for sharing and caring, and I pray that we will all grow as we learn about each other, and from each other.
I am recovering from brain injury and I do believe that God understands when our bodies (and minds) break down and He is forgiving and loving even when no one else is. He also can use us even when things aren't working right.
I hope you will join us in reading through the Bible. I have been doing this for over 20 years, lost track of exactly how many times long ago. I do know this, that in spite of my memory loss from the brain injury, I can remember God's Word and His truth much better than anything else.
And then there are the depressions . . . . Yuck!
Anyhoo, I'm new to this group too. Just joined a few days ago. So far, I love it. Kind people w/ lots of great insight into God and walking with Him. I know you will benefit from the group, just as we will benefit from you!
