A few years ago, Christians who were shareholders of AT&T stock were being advised by Christian leaders to sell their stock in the company to protest AT&T's hosting of pornographic websites on their servers. Seems right, right?
But what if they did exactly the wrong thing? What if, instead, Christian leaders had advised Christian shareholders of AT&T stock to buy even more shares of stock, thereby gaining greater controlling interest in the company, with the intention of then using that power for good, to force AT&T to stop hosting pornographic websites on their servers? It could have been done.
In your workplace, on your street, when you are out shopping, when you are seated in a classroom, when you are involved in a group discussion, when you are eating in a restaurant, when you are seated in a doctor or dentist's office, does it ever seem as if you might be the only Christ-minded person present? Do you hold your tongue in speaking what you believe a Christian should say for fear of being silenced or ridiculed?

Your place is out in the world. Do not cower, do not hide. Do not stay at home inside the four walls. Do not fear to use your power for good. Do not fear to join or form a Christ-centered conspiracy. You are filled with the power that comes from knowing with certainty what Christ would have you do in the circumstances that life presents to you. You are more powerful than you may know.
When you take a stand in a group discussion or a public place, you may be ridiculed. People may try to intimidate you into silence. But think of it this way: Their objections are like a wall. Your truth from Christ is the battering ram that will topple that wall. Once the wall is down, you'll have a way through to make more progress toward spreading Christian ideals more widely. You have enormous power and enormous knowledge of what is good and what is right. Trust yourself to use that power for good.

Yes, Hollywood. Prior to 1966, it might surprise you that Christians had a fair hold on the movie business. Then on the behest of The Council of Churches, they relinquished control of their control of film making. That was the start of the downfall of the movie business. Since then, the morality of movies has diminished greatly.
Yet, Christians don't realize or perhaps understand that it was THEIR apathy that started the whole thing. They felt back in '66 that they shouldn't be part of the movie world. Now, there is good news to this and that is some Christian films are being made and many of them do sooo much better in the Box Office than their non-Christian counterparts.
