Years ago, they started a celebration called Earth Day. People brought attention to the water we drink, the food we eat, the air we breathe and the chemicals we place on the crops, etc.
We have a lot of technology today. We go to outer space and quite frankly. I see no sense of going to the moon.
We can't live there, we can't live on Mars, nor can we live on any of the other planets.
Does it not amaze you that only on EARTH, can mortal man survive, breathe, raise food, etc? We have politicians wanting billions of dollars for funding for Global Warming. We have spent millions on evaluating how much butane gas cows belch into the atmosphere. We see money being spent to see how fast cockroaches breed and multiply and the last major disease we have found a cure for was back in 1955 for Polio.
Look at what we have done in the past few years. The tanker wreck in Alaska. I believe it was the Valdez that spilled millions of barrels of oil. Recently, the British Petroleum rig blow out in the Gulf of Mexico that dumped millions and millions of oil into the Gulf that floated all the way to Florida. The marine animals that were killed, and wildlife, not to mention those that we don't even know of.
We have had Terrible fires in Texas and California, destroying acres and acres of trees as well as loss of homes, etc. With the destruction of trees and plants that give off oxygen and take in carbon dioxide, we are messing up the air we breathe just with these things alone. I wonder if God looks at man and what He thinks of how we are handling things here. I'd like to comment on a few things about man's ideas about Earth.
I. There are those who believe that the Earth is the Earth's. In other words, it takes care of itself:
The evolutionists of this world believe that the earth always was and will always be, ever evolving and changing and never ceasing. They believe it has no creator nor, a substainer, that it takes care of itself.
They believe it came from no where and isn't going anywhere either. It is a everlasting accident of time.
A. The Bible says this " In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
1. It had a beginning.
2. It was created
3, It was created by something.
Genesis Chapter One is the chapter of Beginnings and it tells of the sequence of God's work when He created this planet we call earth. Have you ever stopped to look at how busy God was during this first week of creating earth and what he did. Let's look at these because most people just read them as words.

Most of you didn't realize that God was that busy:
a. When you see, you have to look at something
b. When you say something, you have to speak
c. When you make or create something, you have to move
II. Earth was claimed by a false owner: ( Matt. 4 vs-8-9)
In this scripture. Jesus is being tempted by Satan and here is what it says, "Again, the devil taketh Him (Jesus) upon an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them: And saith unto Him, All these will I give thee, if thou will fall down and worship me."
Now, lets look at this for a minute.
A. Jesus said in John Chpt 8 vs-44, that Satan was a murderer and a Liar and the father of it. It other words, Satan was the originator of the Lie. Satan told Jesus that he would give all the kingdoms of the world and their glory to Him if, Jesus would fall down and worship him.
Point: Satan does not own the kingdoms of this world. He was offering something he could not produce.
Satan is still doing the same things today to tempt people and to seduce them to his power.
a. Fame and fortune will bring happiness.
B. Jesus called Satan the Prince of this world--John 12 vs 31.
C. Apostle Paul called Satan the God of this world-- 2 Corinthians Chpt 4 vs 4.
Satan has assumed the title of "Prince of this world" and, if he is the "god of this world, we have allowed it.
What do we call someone who tells lies? A LIAR!!!!!!
Jesus said in John Chpt 8 vs 44 that Satan is a murderer and a liar and the father of it. In other words, Satan is the originator of the LIE. He is the father of lies.
III. Some believe that earth belongs to us--MANKIND!!!!!!:
A. We have rights of ownership but, they are temporal. It is like a lease. You have it for a while.
Notice what God told Adam in Genesis 2 vs 15 says "And the Lord God, took the man and placed him in the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
In other words God says " here Adam is a beautiful garden that I have prepared for you. I want you to tend it and to take care of it for me." This is the record of the first occupation. If you go on through the chapter, you find that Adam named the animals, etc. and was told he could eat of the fruits of the Garden except of one tree.
It is amazing today, what we see as "land owners: in the world today. The largest ranch in the United States is the King Ranch in Texas between Corpis Christi and Brownsville, Texas. It consists of 825,000 acres which covers 1,289 square miles.
The largest ranch in the world is the Anna Creek Ranch in Australia. It consists of 5.8 million acres which is bigger than the land we know as present day Israel!!!!!!!!!
Now stop and think a minute. Remember Jesus said "What profit a man, if he gain the whole world and lose his own soul?" If these acreages mentioned above were sold for just $4000.00 an acre, I can't figure out how many zeroes I would have to place in the answer.
When it's all said and done, earthly wealth, land ownership, popularity, fame mean absolutely NOTHING!!!!!!
V. The Bible says this " The Earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein.
Notice it does not say;
1. The earth WAS the Lord's.
2. The earth WILL BE the Lord's someday.
3, The earth was His till someone stole it when He wasn't looking!!!!!
It says the World IS THE LORD'S-- in other words. it is his NOW!!!!!!
a. He is it's Creator
b. He is it's sustainer
c. He will be it's destroyer
e. He will be it's remaker--Rev. 21. vs-1
Point: There NEVER HAS BEEN a FOR SALE sign on the earth and there NEVER will be.
To you realtors out there. You can place a FOR SALE in it but, you can not place a FOR SALE on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, if God owns the world and it's fullness and those that dwell in it. that means the following:
My money, my house, my clothes, my job, my business, my oilwells, my boat, my camper, my airplane, my atv, my suv. and my rv, all belong to God. They are not really mine either.
Point: Everything you have, including your family, belong to God!!!!!!
Now, you only belong to God, if you have been born into His Family!!!!!
It's kind of like this. Back in the South before the Civil War, there were slave owners. They owned slaves but, these slaves were not members of the family who owned them.
We are born into this world that is owned by God but, we become a part of His family when we are born by blood . That blood relationship comes by our accepting the blood of Christ as our means of atonement for our sins. When we accept Him as our savior, we are "Born Again" and that refers to being born into the family of God. Up until we are born into the family of God. we are referred to as the "Slaves of sin".
A. We have a physical birth-- toearthly family
B, We must have a Spiritual birth---to God's family.
This old world is a mess due to the nature of man to sin. " All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. Romans 3:23.
This old world does not belong to mankind of any race or creed, It belongs to God. God said in John 3:16 that He loved the world loved this world so much, that He gave His only begotten Son, that Whosoever (anybody) believeth in Him (Jesus) should not perish but, have everlasting life."
We as man are temporary. This world is temporary. God, His word and His Promises are Eternal.
Now you know, who the World's TRUE owner is.

B. No rights to have an inheritance of anything
C. They believe everything belongs to those in power. They believe Power dictates ownership of everything
