The New Year is upon us and I would like to share 3 things found in this Scripture.
This Scripture deals with Joshua's instructions to his men, prior to crossing the Jordan River.
"And Joshua rose early in the morning and they removed from Shittim and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over. And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the host and they commanded the people, saying,
when ye see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then shall ye remove from your place, and go after it. Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about a thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way be which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore. And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the Lord will do wonders among you".
This may sound confusing to some but, I wish to point out these three points as I mentioned above.
I. New Way:
Notice verse 4. It says "ye have not passed this way heretofore. In other words, "you ain't been this way before." God has promised that He will never leave us or forsake us and He also says in Psalms 32 vs 8 that "He will guide us with His eye". Jesus said, "I am the way", in John 14 vs 6. As long as we follow the Lord, we have nothing to fear. He is the perfect, guide to all things. We are in good hands.
II. New Walk:
Notice is says in vs-5 to "Sanctify yourselves". For this "New Way, God wants us to have a New Walk. He wants us to be free from the burdens and the weight of sin and it's troubles. In other words, He wants us to rededicate ourselves to Him. In I John 1 vs 9 says, If we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive us our sins and, cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In other words, He wants us to start this New Way and New Walk with our past failures, burdens, and sins, confessed to him and walk refreshed and secure in knowing that He has forgiven us and we are free from those things that weigh us down of the past.
III. New Wonders:
In the latter part of verse 5, it says that "The Lord will do wonders among you". Do you not want the Lord to show you things anew in your Christian walk and your Christian way? I certainly do. Every year, I want to strive to do better, to witness more, to win more Souls to Christ, and to bring Honor and Glory to Him. The key to God using us "anew" in this New Year, is to just be willing to be used. God doesn't expect us to all be theologians, professors, and all have Doctor of Divinity Degrees. He just wants us to be willing to do what He wants us to do and to go where He sends us. That may be to an unsaved family member, a co-worker, a neighbor or, a friend. Each of us are to be and should be soul winners. We need to let others see Christ in us.
May this year be a New Walk in a New Way and then watch for the New Wonders that God works in us, through us and for us.
Have a wonderful New Years and a Happy New Year for 2012.

THANK YOU SO MUCH PEEWEE FOR THIS WONDERFUL AND BLESSED MESSAGE. I PRAY THAT YOU HAVE A BLESSED NEW YEAR IN 2012.
GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS IN EVERYTHING YOU DO......JULIE
this message socked me right between the eyes because i was given this assignment by God and i failed to complete it. had i been one of the children of Israel i would have sat dirty beside the creek while the ark of the covenant passed me by.
part of me wants to just sit, hang my head and cry because i failed. part of me wants to make excuses. part of me says get up and do what you were called to do, focus and concentrate on the task at hand and hope you get another chance for the blessing God was going to give you once your house was organized. i think i will listen to that third part and try my best to silence the other two.
thank you Pee Wee, it isn't the first time i have been convicted by a message and won't be the last. i have always said that if a pastor doesn't step on my toes now and again, then he isn't a good pastor. you are the best because i am now called to action instead of just hearing the word.
This message was great because it pierced me like a dagger. Happy New Year Peewee!!!
The very best messages can and do highlight in us the things we need to improve upon and bring about the much needed change in our lives while at the same time comforting us in our failures and causing us to want to rededicate ourselves to His love and the work and walk He has called us to.
Thank You God for bringing such a special person in our lives that listens to you and doesn't grow weary in well doing but faithfully brings us the messages so we can grow more like you. Thank you Pee Wee
