Today, I wish to share with you, the prophecies in the Old Testament, concerning the coming of Jesus, the Messiah. Just as people of the world in that day, ignored these prophecies, the people of today are doing the same thing, on His soon return. There are over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament, I will just share a few of the Old and New Testament's prophecies concerning Christ.

1. Would be "the seed of woman". Gen. 3 vs 15.
God speaking " And I will put enmity between thee and the woman and between thy seed and her seed: it
shall bruise thy head and thou shalt bruise his heel". Notice the term "her seed". comments at end of
message, concerning this.

2. Promised seed of Abraham-Gen. 18 vs 18
Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation and all the nations of the earth shall
be blessed in him.

3. Will descend from the tribe of Judah Gen. 49:10
The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor the lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come and
unto him shall the gathering of the people be. "Sceptre" refers to his royal line and "lawgiver" refers to
His right to rule. "Shiloh" is the messianic title for "seed of woman".

4. Heir to the throne of David: Isaiah 9 vs-7
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever.

5. His place of birth: Micah 5 vs-2
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall
come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel, whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

6. His Time of Birth: Daniel 9:25
Know therefore, and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build
Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street
shall be built again and the wall, even in troublous times. ( this refers to the decree of Augustus for taxing
of the people and the reason for it)

7. Born of a virgin Isaiah 7 vs 14
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign: Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and
shall call his name Immanuel.

Now, remember I said to remember what God said to the Serpent in Genesis Chpt 3 vs-15 "her seed"?

Here is why God said "her seed" because Jesus was born of a virgin and mans seed was not needed or used.

These are just a few of the prophecies concerning Jesus' coming. Next week, I will list the scriptures when each of these 7 prophecies were fulfilled.

Jesus is who the Scripture said He would be. Do you know Him?
