Lood What's in Front of You Deut. 30: vs 15-
OLDBIKER
To give you some background on this scripture, Moses is now 120 years old. The generation of unbelievers have passed away, in the 40 years of wondering in the wilderness and, Moses is giving instructions to the younger ones of the Israelites before they cross over the Jordan river to the Land of Promise. He presents these things to the Children of Israel to call their attention to God and His blessings for obedience.
Question: Have you ever placed an order in a coffee shop or an eatery of some kind and they bring you something that you didn't order and place it in front of you? I imagine your first reaction is "What is that"?
In the text today, Moses makes a profound statement in verse 19 where he says :I call Heaven and Earth to record this day. Remember this phrase. Here are 3 things that we as humans must deal with in this record.
I. Today----Life and Good---vs-16
Moses makes 3 statements here that we must do in life.
a. Love the Lord thy God
b, Walk in His ways
c. Keep His commandments
Notice he mentions the benefits of doing these things. These are blessings for obedience.
1, You will live.
2, You will multiply
3. You will be blessed wherever you go.
Notice verse 19. He says "Choose life"!
The 3 things mentioned in the above go along with choosing life. You see, we never really enjoy life until we truly know love. Jesus said "if you love me, you will keep my commandments John 14:15. Same with the next couple of verses in John 14: 23 "if a man love me, he will keep my words"........................
You see obedience comes from love. Moses also says that they will have length of days. This is one of the original 10 commandments about "Honor you father and mother that thy days may be long upon the land that the Lord giveth thee. Exodus 20 vs 12.
The Bible is full of lessons on love, obedience and blessing. Verse 19 has an important word "Choose"!
We have a decision to make in life.
Here are some quick examples that I will shorten just a bit,. Elijah and the Prophets of Baal I Kings 18:21
Elijah says make a choice or a decision. "If God be God, then follow Him. If Baal be god, then follow him"!
We have a choice today to either follow Christ or Satan. Jesus said " you are either for Him or against Him:.
Matt. 12:30 Luke 11:23
If you read the rest of this story, the prophets of Baal called on him (their false god) and nothing happened. Elijah called on God and fire fell and devoured the altar, the bullock and lapped up all the water that they had poured on it. When all the people saw it Vs-39 says, they fell on their faces and said The Lord He is God.
II. Death and Evil--vs15
Who is the author of evil?----Satan
Who told the first lie?-----Satan
Who caused the first sin---Satan
What was the result of the first sin?-----death
You see, many people blame God for death. Here is a scripture we should all read from time to time.
John 8:44---Jesus was speaking to the Scribes and Pharisees and said, "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lust of your father, ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own for his is a liar and the father of it".
A. Satan told the first lie to Eve when he said 'Thou shalt not surely die" Gen. 3 vs-4.
B. Where and why was the first murder? Gen. 4 vs 8 Why? Jealousy and envy!!!!!!!!
Here is a list of sin's fruit, just in case you don't know what they are. Galations 5: vs 19-21
1. Adultery-self explanatory
2. Fornication--self explanatory
3. uncleanliness-- immoral behavior
4. Lasciviousness--attitude of disregard of opinions which affect others
5. Idolatry--idol worship or anything you place between you and God.
6. Witchcraft--sorcery-tarot cards, palm reading, etc.
7. Hatred--personal animosity towards someone
8. Variance-----discord and quarrlesomeness
9. Emulations----jealousies, constant desire to excel above someone else
10. Wrath-- stirring up emotions of temper to the point of exploding.
11. Strife-- factions that stir up senseless accusations
12. Seditions------Causing split and divisions among people
13. Heresies------untruths, beliefs or teachings based on preferences that than on truth
14. Envyings--feelings of ill will against someone
15. Drunkeness--self explanatory
16 Revelings----wild riotous partying or ungodly behavior
Do you notice or recognize any of these fruits?
III. Why will Ye Die? Ezekiel 18 vs 30-32
God's word is still true. Why do we die? Because of Sin!!!!!!!!! Physically and Spiritually.
All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Rom. 3:23
The wages of sin is death Rom. 6:23
God's solution. Rom. 5:8 'But, God commendth His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." If we confess Jesus with our mouth and believe in our heart, that God has raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved. For whosoever calleth upon the name of the Lord shall be saved Rom 10: 9, 10, and 13.
Elijah said in I kings 18 "How long halt ye between 2 opinions"?
For 35 years, I have preached salvation to many many people. For over a year, I have presented messages like this here on ChristianChurchMinistry 24/7, on salvation, how to be saved and the joy of knowing Heaven is your Eternal Home. There are those who have walked out of the church after I have preached, still lost.
Maybe someone comes here and reads messages and are still lost,. I don't know.
I have 3 questions for those of you who may be lost.
a. What's it going to take, to get you to see your lost condition?
b. What's it going to take for you to understand salvation's free gift.
c, What's it going to take to get you to accept Christ as your Saviour?
Just as the Jews fell on their faces before the Altar that Elijah had built and God consumed, you too will fall on your faces before God someday and confess the The Lord is God.
I will close with this: Phillipians 2 vs 9-11
"Wherefore God also has highly exalted Him (Jesus), and given Him a name above every name, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of things in heaven, of things in earth and things under the earth and, that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father"
Why will Ye Die?
May this message be achieve the purpose it was intended.

15 See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. 16 For I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.
17 But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them, 18 I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.
19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live 20 and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
