God is Never Late 2 Peter Chpt 3 vs 8-9
OLDBIKER
This message is a start of the Christmas Season when we remember Christ's earthly birth and with that in mind, I post this message.
There are people today who are habitually late to everything. They are never on time. My son was one of these people, when he was in high school. It got so bad that his friends would tell him what time to meet them, only they would tell him 30 minutes before the set time, just so he wouldn't be late. To some, this is their normal way of living.
In this scripture, Peter says some people are ignorant about God being on time. Some question why God waits.
Have you ever questioned God as to why he waits or ever asked why God does something? I am sure most of us have. This is ok, God doesn't mind us asking Him questions. Jesus' disciples questioned Him a lot, when they didn't understand things.
Notice Peter made a bold statement about 1 day being a thousand years to God then, it reverses it and says a thousand years as one day to God. When we look at time in this perspective, we can get a glimpse as to why things don't happen when we think they should.
When people asked Jesus about His return, He told them no-one knows in Matt Chpt. 24. We should be ready anytime.
These body scans they are doing and the micro-chipping of animals, might get us to wondering how long it will be before they want to micro-chip us. Remember the mark of the Beast mentioned in Revelation? Scary isn't it?
In a few days, we are going to celebrate Christmas. Christmas is not Santa Claus and reindeer. It is the greatest celebration of the greatest event in history!!!!!!! God's greatest gift to mankind!!!!!!!
Here are 3 things that prove that God is never late.
1. God does not break His Promises" Vs-9
When the Lord says it, we can believe it. Jesus birth was prophecied in Isaiah Chpt 7 vs 14-- it came to pass.
God's word said in Isaiah Chpt. 9 vs-6-7 He (Jesus) would be called the Prince of Peace. In Psalms 53: vs 5-6, god's word said that it would come to pass. It did. In Luke 24: vs 6-7 God's word spoke of Christ's resurrection. It happened. With these being true, we can also believe John 14: vs 1-3.
2. God demonstrates his Patience for Mankind.
How long had man waited for their Messiah? God made a statement in the Garden of Eden and it came to pass. From Adam to Christ is 4000 years. Remember that number, 4000 years. Many Old Testament prophets spoke of his coming and man waited and waited. Waiting takes patience. Everything about God shows his patience. Sowing and reaping takes patience. Changing of seasons require patience.
Remember the story of Lazarus in John Chpt. 11. Jesus was sent word that Lazarus was sick yet Jesus tarried 2 more days. When he came to Mary and Martha, He was blamed for not being there sooner and was told that if He had been there when they wanted him to be, Lazarus, their brother, would not have died.
Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. Listen folks, God is always on time but patient. We must has Patience.
3. God delights in saving souls then and now: vs-9
God is not a slacker. God is long suffering!!!! Look who he is patient with in vs-9 "to us ward"
God wants sinners to realize they are lost. God wants sinners to repent of their sin and turn to Him. God wants sinners to accept his provision for our salvation and that provision is Jesus Christ, God's Sacrificial Son.
Christmas time is proof:
1. Of God's promise
2. Of God's Plan
3. Of God's provision
Without Christmas, there would be no Salvation for mankind. This alone should explain why God waits before Jesus comes back.
See ,God is Never late--He does not break His Promises- God said the Messiah would come.
See, God is never late--He demonstrates His Patience--When right time came, Jesus was born.
See, God is never late-- He delights in saving mankind yet today--He could have stopped at any time.
Just as mankind awaited the coming of Jesus (The Messiah). we too await His return for us because God is never late and Jesus will come at the appointed time.
Question is., ARE YOU READY FOR HIS COMING?
Closing. Remember the 4000 years I told you to remember? Ok look at this just for thought.
Genesis 1 says that God worked for 6 days and rested the 7th day, does it not?
If a day is a thousand years for God and a thousand years as one day, this would equate to 6000 years.
It was 4000 years from Adam to Christ and 2000 years from Christ to now. What is left? 1 day or 1000 yrs.
What is the next 1000 years mentioned in the Bible? The 1000 year Millenial Reign of Christ. The day of Rest. Just something to think about! May God bless this message.

the only thing i know that we can do to help things along for that, is to go and tell as many as will listen about the good news! the shepherds did this after the angels told them where to find the Christ child. we need to be God's shepherds and go to the lost and show them Jesus in us so they too can come to know this incredible act of love that He gave us in the gift of Jesus!
God bless you Oldbiker and God bless those who hear and will respond to this word by spreading the Gospel, (the good news) from the near to the far corners of the earth!
