Christian Church 24.7 Ministry Community Group
Welcome to our church! We are glad you have chosen to join us. Please read the important guidelines for the group first.
God is Counting on Us Matt. 28 vs 19-20
OLDBIKER
This scripture is often referred to as " The Great Commission".
This is Jesus speaking: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world".
There are 3 things I wish to call your attention to.
I. God's Program:
God has a program for us, as followers of Christ, to follow. We are to witness to all those around us and testify of God's love and grace for mankind. You don't have to stand in a pulpit and preach or, a box on a street corner somewhere. We can share the love of Christ anywhere, at anytime, with anyone.
I have led people to Christ in coffee shops, in their home, in my car. We are to do our best to win the lost, before it is eternally too late.
II. God's Purpose:
God says in II Peter 3:9 that "God is not willing that any should perish but, that all should come unto repentance. Years ago, lost people used to come to church at the invite of a friend but, I do not find this as prevalent as it used to be. We have to go and find lost people now days. I have went to some homes, where some preachers would not go. I have witnessed to "Bikers" and to those who have ran off other preachers.
We need to try to win as many as we can and I have said this many times, "if we really knew how bad hell was,
we would all be better witnesses and better Christians.
I have also found that if we are busy witnessing to others, we keep ourselves spiritually strong. We stay focused on what we are doing and we do not get caught up in some of the petty things that some get caught up in, like prayerlessness, gossip and selfishness. Our hearts desire is to be focused on seeing others come to the saving knowledge of Christ. There is nothing more joyful than to see someone get saved then, watch them grow in the Lord. I have seen this many times and it is always a blessing to me. Blessings like this have no price tag but, they are valuable just the same.
III. God's Power:
God's program and God's purpose must have God's power behind it. Many time, if we are not careful, we get a
"my program" started and when it fails, we often asked ourselves, why. God must be the center of any program and He is the one who should receive the glory from it. Anything we do in the church and for the church, should be for God's glory, not our own. I am very sceptical about those who have the "I" mentality when they start a program or an outreach in the church. Remember, the middle letter in sin is "i".
If we have the love of Christ in our hearts, if we go to a lost and dying world, under the direction and the power of the Holy Spirit, we shall see results that bring glory and honor to Christ.
Churches today have gotten so busy and tied up in "their programs" they have forgotten about 2 things,
A. God's program
B. People.
Today, some churches are so busy with programs, committees, boards, and administration, that they have forgotten about people. Every person has a soul and that soul will spend eternity, somewhere. The question is WHERE!!!!
I made a statement one time that kind of ruffled a few feathers but I believe what I said is still true., Here is what I said, "Too many churches today are full of carts" What are carts made out of"? Big wheels and boards".
Any time, any church is more focused on programs, the color of the carpet in the sanctuary, what kind of desk is in the secretaries office, instead of trying to reach lost people, there is something wrong, somewhere.
Be a witness wherever you are, share the love of Christ to that one who feels that no-one loves them, let them see Christ in you and God will bless you for it.
Have a wonderful weekend.
