The listed scripture says " I am the way, the truth and, the life. No man cometh unto the father but, by me."
We have a lot of highways throughout this world. We think of all the Interstates, the massive cloverleafs in the United States and the great highways in foreign countries throughout this world. All these are made for someone, on a journey, to get somewhere.
We all are on a Spiritual Journey in life. I guess the main question to start is, which highway are you on.
There are 3 areas to consider,
I. The Direction of the Highway ( " I am the way")
Isn't it strange that the person who asked this question in verse 5 "how can we know the way"? This is the same man who did not believe that Christ had risen from the dead, after Christ's resurrection.
Jesus life, His teachings and, His resurrection is our guideposts to the right direction of our spiritual journey.
II. The Description of the Highway ( " I am the truth").
Today, we live in a world that has little truth, anymore. No-one admits or takes responsibility for their actions. Politicians, celebrities, lawyers, on and on and on are not living or telling the truth. It is also sad to say that there are Preachers and Pastors today who are not preaching the truth either.
Pilate asked Jesus in John 18 vs 38 "What is truth"? Sadly, like many today, Jesus is standing right in front of them and they do not recognize the truth. Jesus is the Originator of truth. He is truth in the flesh.
III. The Destination of the Highway: (" I am the life")
The main decision we must make, when we choose a highway is, where does it lead to? Where will it take us if we take it?
There are many highways today that go many places.
a. They take us to fame in life
b. They take us to fortune in life
c. They take us to success in life
1. they take us to Science
2. they take us to education
3. they take us to the arts
4. they take us to seek to foreign religions, cults, etc.
The Bible says in Matthew 7 vs 13 says "broad is the way that leads to destruction...............
Following Jesus takes us to our desired destination. That destination is Heaven. The Apostle John wrote a
glimpse of Heaven in Revelation Chpt. 21 and Chpt. 22 vs 1-6.
Are you headed the right way? If you are not on the right way, then take the next exit and get on "The Way".

How appropriate for my life to think of this journey He has me on! It should not amaze me that from so many sources around me, including you my dear friend, is He leading me and calling me to journey closer to Him. since He healed my back i have had many doors open and many directions i could go in and while none of the directions are in and of themselves bad, i am not sure which way He is leading my life now. before when i could do nothing but worship and praise Him because i was physically unable to do other things, life was easier, now that i am able and can do more, life all at once has gotten complicated.
i have many questions about what He wants me to do now but as i consider all the different things i could be doing i realized i was swimming and almost drowning in a sea of possibilities all good but still sinking fast as in becoming overwhelmed so i made one important decision for my life right now. i am going to get away from everything and go to the mountains as soon as i can for a week just me and Him. i know a place where it is quiet if i go at the right time of year. no radio no distractions and i will seek Him out to find the direction He wants me to go in. i know He has a plan for my life but i am clueless because of all the plans before me to choose, but He knows the plan so i need to get before Him and be still and listen.
when in doubt seek Him out!
