Christians: What are they? Acts 11. vs-26
OLDBIKER
Before I begin this message, I wish to say thank you for all the kind words of sympathy and condolences on the death of my wife's mother, who dropped dead at 1 pm yesterday 2-22-11. Her arrangements are being finalized today. I preached a graveside service yesterday, a funeral today and I will attend my mother-in-laws Sat. I have been asked to play a piano solos for her funeral and speak if I so desire. Again, Thank all of you and God bless you, This is being posted early due to the funeral . I hope you all understand.
CHRISTIAN today is a term that is used so loosely. It has lost it's meaning from the origin for whence it came, as our scripture verse says.
Christian is an word used by many "religious groups" today and in some cases, these religions have no more Christ in them that Grapenuts have grapes and nuts. Why do they call them grapenuts. They are neither grapes nor do they have nuts!!!!!!! The word CHRiSTIAN, has been stretched all the way from modernism to fanaticism!!
Not all "religions" are going to Heaven. If this be true, then John 14:6 is a lie and Jesus is the author of it. Jesus said, "I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH and, THE LIFE< NO MAN cometh unto the Father, BUT BY ME!!!!!!!!
If John 14;6 is not true, then neither is John 3:16.
The word Christian is used in cold legalistic ritual churches and in hyped up, wound up , heated up emotionalism churches. Some people use the term Christian to help them be accepted n a "Churched Community". The real tests comes in by what others think of our witness, how we conduct ourselves, how we act and what we say. Do people consider you a Christian when they see your life? Do they see the evidence of Christ's presence in your life? Someone once said "I'd rather see a Sermon than hear one, anytime". People today are looking for people who call themselves Christians to be genuine and sincere and real.
To be a Christian, one must be saved. To be a Christian, one needs to be surrendered and, if you are a Christian, you should want to serve or be serving somewhere in Christ's work.
I. The Christian is born of God:
Jesus told told Nicodemas, you must be born again. That means the death of the old sinful life, the repentance for that sinful life and, the acceptance of Christ as your Saviour through faith in His atoning death for the payment of your sins. Listen, if you could go to heaven and be a Christian without Christ, then why did Christ have to die on the Cross, if being a good old boy was sufficient for your salvation?
A Christian is born of God, engrafted in Christ and, inhabited by the Holy Spirit. John 14: 16-17.
II. The Christian is not what he was:
a. Grace has made a difference,
If there is no difference in your attitude towards people, your actions, towards people or your concern for people, there is something seriously wrong somewhere!!!!!!!
III. The Christian has these Characteristics:
a. We have the mind if Christ. in other words, we are motivated and directed by Christ in our lives
b. The love of Christ is our Witness. People see a difference in us, they see Christ in us.
c. People see us conforming to a Christlike life--spiritual growth
d. To be with Christ is our desired Goal.
IV. The Christian is in the world but, not of the world:
We are among the world but separated from it.
Dope parties, drunken parties, and lifestyles that are not bringing Glory to Christ, are places that a Christian should not feel comfortable. If the Lord would come back, would you want Him to find you there, taking part in these activities?
We as Christians are to know Christ, enjoy Christ, obey Christ, Uplift Christ and Glorify Christ. We may be passing through this world but, we should not attach ourselves to it. Fact is folks, "This old world is doomed"
It is going to vanish, one of these days. Attaching ourselves to this old sin sick world would be as silly as "crossing the Atlantic ocean in a leaky boat, without a sail, no food to eat and no bucket to bail"
A Christian lives here on the earth but, dwells in Heaven. He is to be an impression of Jesus, a reflection of God, and a Temple of the Holy Spirit.
Do you have these Characteristics? Do people see you and know you as a Christian? Are you sincere in your Christian walk? Does your countenance reflect Christ? Does your kindness reflect Christ? Does your actions reflect Christ?
These disciples were called CHRISTIANS first at Antioch. They followed Christ, His love, His compassion His kindness, and His actions towards others. Where do you fit in?
May God Bless this Message.

DO NOT LOOK AT SOMEONE WHO LIKE TO JUDGE YOU AND THEY SHOULD LOOK THEIR OWN PROBLEMS INSTEAD JUDGING YOU. ONLY GOD JUDGE. GOD KNOWS YOUR HEART MORE THAN YOURSELF. I KNOW YOU KNOW THIS ALREADY. LISTEN TO YOUR (BOSS) GOD WILL TEACH YOU ALL THE TRUTH ABOUT YOU AND HELP OTHERS WHO NEED TO HEAR THE GOOD NEWS. FOCUS ON JESUS ONLY. YOU WILL BE OKAY.
I HAD TO LEARNED THE HARD WAY TOO. BUT DIFFERENT ISSUES THEN YOURS. GOD HEALED ME SINCE 2004.
GOD BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY,
SISTER IN CHRIST LUCI
